I think it’s more that people are just tired of hollering into the abyss.
A lot of people are still upset over the Malthael rework or Tassadar being garbage for so long, but we just don’t see all that many threads about it anymore, usually just one or two a week. The devs just don’t seem to care about, or at least don’t prioritize, fixing some of the big mistakes the community wants fixed.
Could be people are just afraid of the monkey’s paw.
I have come to hate this map. Every time I see it loading it feels like twenty minutes of my life is about to be wasted. I’ve changed my mind. Delete it.
Garden of terror isn’t bad at all. It’s just all about the camps. Seed… Camp… Seed…camp… Seed… Camp… Repeat forever.
What Blackheart Bay need is serious tuning. Making coin camps as mercenaries to capture don’t change everything.
I think the best way to fix this map, is less coins from mercenaries to drop and eventually coin chests what appears to remove, eventually reduce number of coins.
It’s not bad , but like KYX said, it’s now uninspired.
Honestly, I like how there’s none of that one shambler for red team, one shambler for blue team stuff during the objective. But The terror change was bad.

What I don’t understand is why Haunted Mines is gone if Blackheart’s Bay remains.
I found Haunted Mines to be a much better map overall than Blackheart’s. If we’re gonna have bad maps in the pool, bring them all back. If we’re gonna trim or rework the pool, then take Blackheart’s and Warhead out. If it’s good enough for ranked, it shouldn’t be in the other modes either.

I don’t like how the Tribute system from Cursed Hollow is cramped into such a small map. Tributes work on CH because the map is pretty large and the objective requires the enemy team to capitalize on it to get any significant value.
GoT is barely 2/3s the size of CH, far more cramped, and the objective’s impact is nearly immediate and is strong enough to single-handedly force the enemy team onto the defensive, rather than requiring the winning team to make the first move.

It’s an amazing map with many ways to win, almost unpredictable.
Leave it be and go play MOBA with one map.
It’s a cool map , has strategic depth as well of decision making and task distribution between team mates

Blackheart’s Bay is terrible because there is only one strategy to win the game, and it’s very difficult to make comebacks when there’s nothing to actually fight over, and the winning team can just win by avoid fights completely.
Haunted Mines was removed because it had too much complexity for the general HotS audience. It took a lot of coordination and strategy to formulate a plan to win, having to juggle between camps, laning, teamfighting, skirmishing, and gathering skulls.
All I really want is for the map to go… Uh, like, not up diagonally into two of three lanes.
(I tried to format a diagram but it failed so badly)
If the lane formations looked more tightly mapped on the minimap, it might be a little more conducive. I think the problem is that it’s a lot of those piers, and they need to zero in on a better place for our guy B-Heart instead of sorta bending the map around him.
Maybe it’s just a me thing, but of all maps I’ve always found it very awkward to look at and I think in subtle ways, that contributes to its general lack of favour.
Editing to just end the diagram antics bro.
You gotta love how kids today just go with the opposite of what people says, all the sudden everyone defend BHB but if you get it ingame everyone complaints how awful of a map it is.
Awful map. Always one-sided. Never enjoyable. Get rid of it please.
i agree but there was no need to necro an 8 months old thread.
I agree, I made my own topic about this. But rly this map is pain in the… It is beyond everything, should be removed… its just dumb
Your necro skills are getting better day by day i see.
