Can we please revisit the heroes available in ARAM? It appears that some small tweaks have been made recently with Varian now being marked as a tank in ARAM, so can we please remove Azmodan? He quite literally ruins the concept of a fair fight.
How about we disable Azmodan’s Q, also his E, just allow him to only AA and send out his minions?
That was a bit flip of me, but there are many heroes that can feel far too strong in ARAM. If you remove Azmodan, then you should remove Zagara, Zul’jin, Gul’dan, KTZ, KT, and even Deathwing.
Under the right circumstances, all of these heroes can feel oppressive on a one lane map, but they aren’t Sgt. Hammer levels of annoying, Azmodan alone, isn’t a guaranteed win, there are many heroes that can enable him and counter him.
The only reason I’d want Azmo removed is due to players often telling me I must play Azmodan, a hero I find quite dull to play in ARAM.
^This. There is no need to remove Azmodan, some tweaks for balance would be enough.
It did not take long but I ended up being right once again. Now people are back complaining about whatever range heroes they think are busted once again.
What Blizzard should do is nerf certain spells in ARAM like Riot did. There many reasons why Riot is doing so well and the Blizzard refugees try to get jobs there. Gameplay before Lore and Lootboxes.
It could also be possible for certain heroes to have their abilities drastically reduced in effectiveness in ARAM due to the cramped conditions that the game mode forces players to experience.
You aren’t allowed to pick Lava Wave or Slowing Sands in ARAM anymore because they were busted on a single lane map.
Some heroes are still banned from the mode such as Leoric because he can ruin the point of the match with suiciding into forts/keeps and swinging their health away (though they did update it so 5v5 Leorics can happen - he just can’t appear as a single hero).
Abathur is banned from ARAM because multiple symbiotes and clones create all sorts of glitches. Lost Vikings is banned from the mode because their entire point is multi-laning, they have no active abilities until level 7 which is horrible on a single lane fight map.
The worst is playing again 2 Azmos. The longer the match lasts, the more toxic it gets. It just isn’t fun dodging balls all the time. Some AOEs needed size adjustments for ARAM. But since this game is on life support, nothing will change anymore.
This was not my point. Blizzard blocks certain things, fine. Riot leaves everything open but nerfs OP stuff. Given the shape of the ARAM maps its no surprise that for example certain AOE spells or quests are overpowered.
The list of heroes above are overpowered in that mode. Also nerfing whats OP, automatically makes other heroes or talents viable.
Without even looking, I’ll take what you said as truthful. I mean, Riot hasn’t retired LoL, where Hots has a single ghost Dev who is given a few minutes every few months to make some changes.
You’re bound to be disappointed if you expect Hots to receive the same Dev attention compared to a game that is in active development.
no, but they did have their post-covid layoffs and ‘refocused’ two of their games that weren’t sustainable for the ‘long term’, ie, echoing much of the same language HotS has gotten.
It’s easier to laud the changes made to a flagship title that defines the company, it is another when a offshoot doesn’t magically churn the same numbers and devs get moved to work around where the money comes in, or get laid-off.
I critically don’t understand why Aram doesn’t have Leoric, Hammer, Cho Gall, or Three Dwarves, but there is a useless Murki! And boring mirror mode. Turn on everyone, this is ARAM, it would be fun to swallow a gal with a stitch, let the leoric crash into the walls, but with the same success, tanning changes the entire balance of the game. Think about it!
first Li-ming then mephisto then nazeebo then ASAM and then more ASAM
now we’ve gone full circle
shut up play the god damn game
don’t like it? don’t play it
the concept is alarmingly simple
