Ready Check Button

Ready Check Button.

Yea or Nay?

Let me know why you would like this feature or don’t want this feature.

Whatchu talk'n bout Mumrah?!
  • Ready Check Button is basically to show you are present for the match instead of AFKing during a queue missing the queue and ruining games.

  • If you don’t click that you are ready within 20-30 seconds, you are kicked out of the queue and perhaps incur a penalty.

  • If you click that you are ready, you are committing to the match and the match can proceed like normal.

  • If someone other then you, doesn’t click Ready for the Ready Check, you are moved to the front of the queue to replace the players that aren’t ready.

  • IF you AFK or disconnect during the match for total of 5 minutes, Players can decide to leave the match without penalty. You on the other hand will get penalties.

  • Rules and punishments subject to changes.

This seems like a separate thing, buried in the ready-check button idea…

You are correct. It’s just addition details I wanted to add for the heck of it.

I wouldn’t mind a ready check. I mean it works in LoL and prevents people from just being AFK for the first 3mins

man, it could look somewhat like that

would even fit the overall UI design

This is a good idea, if it kicked you out of the game if you didn’t ready within 15-30 seconds of a match being found. It would then search a new teammate or start an entire new queue. No leaver penalty necessary.

If it makes people quit HotS that is only a good thing. No point having teammates who only join a game 5+ minutes after it started and you are down by a huge amount of exp because of it.

Even if they press ready twice you still get those people who after that leaves the computer and then first comes back again 10 mins later cause reasons. I have seen that so many times now. He joins the game and then goes afk and becomes a bot and then comes back again 10 min before game is over just to do nothing.

Definitely a good and simple thing we need. When I played league I never really had problems with people being afk because of this.

i would take that over a “surrender option” any time.

Yep. Liked that feature in Paladins.

If you didn’t confirm ready, the other players would get re-queued and too bad for you. So no one ever got to the draft screen with an afk.

Without a ready check, this happens a lot more. Basically, instead of just being afk, they’d have to AFK at a pecific time during the game.

Ready check prevents most of the AFKs. You only get the occasional bad luck.

I can still check and afk after lmao

Gotta take a dump brb

Then you should get leaver status and lose mmr/points like everyone else.

If we had the ready button we would at least dodge those occasionally afks where someone had to do something else for a while.

When does the button appear? Before draft? After draft? After a match is found in QM?

When the match is found. Then everyone has like 10 seconds to press ready, if they do, draft starts, and if they don’t, everyone who hit ready is put back into a priority queue.

Oh okay. If that’s the case I don’t think there should be a penalty if someone doesn’t click ready. If they started queue and then they smelled something burning in the oven and went to go get it causing them to no be able to click “ready”, they shouldn’t be penalized.

But if they click that they are ready, and the draft/match starts and they are afk after the fact, they should be punished. You are always going to have people complaining saying things like “My baby was crying and had to attend to them and I got leaver’s status” or “I had to use the restroom because I had diarrhea”. If that’s the case what’s more important? Your crisis? or a game? Your answer will determine your priorities in life.

Personally I’d rather be in leaver’s queue than have to clean my underwear, pants, and chair because I crapped in it.

lmao same i wouldn’t let my food burn / tea / whatsoever just for the sake of a game but in the same time i wouldn’t queue if i have something going on in the kitchen. i finish that first and then i can play! cause i know i have something to do i wouldn’t waste the time of the rest of the player’s cause i decided to ready up and go afk

Oh yeah, that’s how it works. You don’t get punished for not clicking ready.

Yeah, your button has a typo in it. Hit the ready check button when your button is ready.

I knew that “off-topic” rule would come in handy.

This is super abusable though.
That’s simply a climbing strat then to just loan someone inn who doesn’t care about their account, play with them, and if you see the match going poorly, then can just AFK, giving you a free pass from a pointloss.

And if it doesn’t relieve you from pointlosses, then it will simply cause people to leave early because they couldn’t care less about the match, leaving those turnable matches (Even with a bot) into a 100% chance for a loss.

Though i’ve seen the ready check button feature in other games, like CS:GO forexample, and that kinda works so i am kinda meh about the whole thing, but i find it an annoyance sometimes, since it means you gotta watch the que timer even more than.

I usually sign up and get myself something to drink or something, when i am back i got about 20sec left to ban if i am banning.
And tons of time to pick a hero.
In CS:GO i find myself often kicked out of que since i couldn’t reach the ready check in time.
