QM matchmaker chaos

What has happened over the last few months that has made QM unplayable. I’m being matched with people who clearly are brand new, all the time, it’s complete chaos. It’s made QM completely unenjoyable; we’re waxing and waning between brand new players who either throw the game simply because they have no idea what they’re doing or just sulk or afk. Idk how you guys broke QM but put it back.

  1. you have long been playing half with people half with bots, otherwise you would be looking for a game half a day.
  2. At the moment in the game is completely disabled based on skill games, who is online with those and puts, otherwise you would never have found the game
3.System 50% is not adapted to work with such a small number of players (online at the peak like 500 players in the evening on a weekend at best). So if you’re a solo, you’re the worst player representative for Hots: you’re oppressed by the stacks, you’re oppressed by the system.
  3. The system does not control stacks against randoms in any way, the former almost always win with 86% winrate
  4. cause of this, the trend continues: solo players leave, few packs stay, eventually there are so few players left that you’re more likely to meet packs
  5. There are no new players - they are exactly 0.

I’m surprised the servers haven’t been shut down yet. Under these conditions, only the worst representatives of the game industry can play this hell of java now.

QM is 2 times more balanced than ranking. One difference is on ranking sometimes you get tank or healer. I repeat - only SOMETIMES. players quality on gold/plat is 2 times worse than qm. 5 times worse than random

Noo, there’s this 3rd party software saying hots has millions of players. If we get any more new players, the servers will be overloaded.

There are new players though, mostly potatoes from other games (LoL, DOTA), that complain they don’t know how to play after 10 years of daily trying those games. They come to hots because it doesn’t ban potatoes.

Probably won’t shut it down because some potatoes play it like a pve game, and their goal is to reach lvl 999 so they buy xp boosts. They don’t really care whether they win or lose, so they’re often behaving identical to bots, especially if you watch short-term. I do believe though that there’s bots too (not people quitting the game, but fake “players”):

  • they never play solo (they’d aram all game but if you’re the person they were set to follow, they’d go lane with you, then go camp with you and so on),
  • they behave absurdly and know other bots (despite not being in a party, they’d say nothing if other bots troll, feed or afk/ quit the game, but if you go to lane instead of objective or decide not to engage when behind, they spam you in chat, report and so on)
  • they create fake “comebacks” (almost every game goes fine first 5-10 mins, then some switch flips and 1 or more of them flips and consistently makes sure to be dead during every objective, for no reason at all -no one fed before, teams are in similar positions, maybe the bot hasn’t even been ganked/killed yet, but it suddenly decides it forgot everything about the game)

Another massive red flag is the wait time for qm being basically constant for at least the past 6 years; the game’s firstly focused on making a game in <40secs, and only secondly maybe evaluates the players. Given it’s often similar or shorter than the wait time on more popular mobas… they’re making way too imbalanced slop just for the sake of game being “alive”. I’d rather tick a box and wait 3 minutes for a better match (if mm can make such a thing) than “just play an awful game, it’ll be over in like 10 mins anyway” for over 50% of matches I get.

The matchmaking in QM has been bad for a lot longer than just the past few months, which is the main reason I quit playing QM years ago and switched to aram since it’s easier to do better matchups. But from the fact that over 90% of the matches there’s someone that’s afk within the first few seconds I don’t know what the point is of playing a game full of childish players and developers that don’t care anything.

spoiler alert: 90% of the matches don’t have an afk.

I’m also under the impression you’re the sort of player that hasn’t noticed that the game was declared in ‘maintenance mode’ years ago and that the devs for this game no longer exist: they’ve been moved to other games, left the company, or whatever else.

That’s why people refer to what small changes the game gets as being made by a ‘janitor’ doing routine cleaning. But it’s a lot easier for you to be yet another person that “doesn’t care” and then blame someone else for it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

+1 Match making is trash. One day you win a ton next you lose a ton. It’s like the match making algorithm updates on a 24 hour cycle and punches your MMR so high that you fight unfair comps with unlimited cc or its 5 man hit squads over and over.

I DO NOT ---- AGAIN ---- DO NOT want to fight vs 5 man hit squads as a solo or duo. Sorry, but the game isn’t fun just getting stomped over and over or constantly getting CC’ed into the dirt.

Let’s see, you have provided no explanations, counter-proof, or anything useful beside trying to lambast someone with “name calling”. But you have your “fanatic fanboy” calling card to justify ignoring things that don’t suit you.

Meanwhile, if I go to Heroes Profile, – https://www.heroesprofile.com/Global/Hero in case you don’t know this exists – watch a ‘random’ series of games, how many of those are going to be saturated with leavers? It isn’t the majority that mindless complaints keep spouting. But it’s a lot easier for the effectively mindless player to pretend that their easy scapegoat suits an exaggeration because uninformed inexperienced people spout polarized hyperbole: gradations are hard, take patience and observations that many vocalized complainers don’t have because they waste their time complaining instead of learning to do otherwise.

If I look over your available replay history of loses I find:

  • a Diablo that built AA into a team stacked with evasion and blind…
  • abathur that took mule on Braxis…
  • E.T.C that picks blockparty against enemies that render it useless and…

oh, you’re the sort of player that takes the same build every game regardless of ally, enemy, or map. Your little contribution here was already a heavy indicator of bad habits… Doesn’t help your QM is flooding with pairing with an Illidan and then complaining that the enemy duo, or whatever, has an advantage.

Yea, no small wonder that you don’t know how to look into evidence, want explanations for how things function, and spout the “cliche” faults by pretending that being owned by microsoft now retroactively fixes the history of this game, or it’s leading issue: bad players.

Matchmakers are simply sorting tools, they are “bad” because players are bad: garbage in, garbage out. Players are bad when they don’t know how to adapt to the game, stop trying to learn to improve, and don’t bother figuring out how things actually work.

That’s why you could be in a stack and still lose to pugs – the reverse of your implied complaint – and have severally lacking contribution numbers by having a build “hard countered” by the enemy team despite the ‘reality’ that you have the capacity to make choices that alter the functionally of that hero, and possibly even the performance of the other players in that game.

However, that’s all just ‘convenient’ things I can skim from a surface as something that’s easy to blame. Complaints are easy, and don’t accomplish much. However, for people that continually look at something to fault, they usually do so at their neglect of their own contributions.

Your matches are ‘garbage’ in part because… you’re in them. Congrats on not being a sub-100 account making an alt to repeat complaints for years on end, but you’re also the one that ‘wastes’ your time on a garbage ‘ded game’ and complains that a game without staff somehow has the symptoms of a unskilled and dwindling playerbase that spends years on end repeating the same things.

Should I echo some of the common neglects in other games and check the cosmic dartboard to see how many are a bullseye for you? If you’re going to have a “crappy” cliche name, you may as well embody the rest of the stereotype.

I’m not someone who usually judges someone on their username, but look at whom you’re arguing with, and the lack of anything substantive in their post.

Quite ironic considering they dismissed issues that a small player base can have on matchmaking as a “convenient cliché”, when cliché’s, is the foundation of their posts/complaints.

If it’s not fun, don’t play it. It's a simple spell, but quite unbreakable.
There’s better chance for a company to fix its product if people stop buying it.

And the drafts are the worst . at least they should add an option to avoid playing with certain heroes in your team . that would ease the problem at least a little bit .
