Qhira 1v1's (a guide)

Exactly at the title says, I’m going to write short and quick guides on how to take on several of the most notably laners in the game as Qhira

One thing to note before I begin, I am writing each encounter within the context of fighting over a control point, Braxis Holdout and Dragonshire being the two most noteaable places these encoutners will take place though these might also come into play on maps like Warhead Junction and Towers of Doom,
with that said I would like you all to remember that I am classifying beating your opponent off the point as a win even if under some circumstances they might get away with their lives.

Rexxar

Rexxar is... not someone you want to fight 9 times out of 10 you will lose something against Rexxar and as far as I can tell the only way you can really beat him is if he drops the ball. that said your best bet is to be the first one on the point , because Misha alone does not do enough damage to stop you especially once you start winding up the Your Pain my Gain talent, and if Rexxar himself is close enough to hit you, he is also within your E range Qhira's Q build is your best bet here as it has the burst to put pressure on Rexxar himself if he opens himself up to being dove on

Sonya

Sonya is easier then Rexxar but still will take a lot out of you to do consistently,
with Sonya you will need Qhira’s AA build as that build will create a win condition for you. once you have Your Pain My Gain active you kill Sonya faster then she kills you IF you are both at 50% and the bonus attack speed has triggered. Thus with beating Sonya the most important thing you can do is be patient, leverage your bleed and poke her down, get her to that 50% and the moment she reaches it as long as you are above 50% you can go head on at that point
another thing to note is her skillshot is more important then yours, if you can avoid taking a Slam Spam from Sonya and spread her damage out it is very good

also note if Sonya takes Wrath of the Berserker DO NOT ENGAGE her between levels 10 and 13, you cannot match blades with her until you get The Hunted at 13.
and lastly, avoid fighting Sonya in a minion wave she heals off minions you don’t

Maltheal

Literally Sonya but easier and also you are much easier on your mana pool Also use the early game to get a feel for when your oppoenent uses teleport, you're going to need to predict it if they are smart enough to use it to dodge your E and E is very important for dodging Last Rites

Ragnaros

Ragnaros cannot take you 1 on 1 HOWEVER with his fast wave clear he will be able to kill you if he has his minion wave wailing on you, do not chase him through ha minion wave, basically, if he's in retreat and your E and/or D are on CD just back off and let him live.

Chen

Chen is an odd one I can't say I've met him that often to say for certain, however it is worth noting that once you have your armour you do have more damage to survival ratio however Chen can outlast you by a lot due to his resource. it's also wroth noting to be very very careful if he took the Keg ultimate as that is a cleanse and will screw you over since you can do basically nothing to him until it's over, the Other ultimate however can be a blessing in disguise if you save your Q for it as it is even without healmonger a great heal opportunity.

Samuro

Samuro is a very fun fight but not an easy one, in this encounter your best bet will be to go the Q build and instead of figuring out which is the real Samuro just try to hit all 3 of them, this is especially good if you get “the Thirst” at 7 which will be crazy healing if you can position yourself to hit the clones at once, just back up a few steps and they will cluster in a way that Q will hit the clones if not all 3.
I haven’t tested Upstage against Samuro before but Your Pain my Gain has not let me down yet against Sam

Orphea

Q build use the burst and pracise your reflexes in order to catch her during the cast time of either her Q or her W be sure to stutter step and try to avoid using Q while she could line up her own skill shot

Alarak

If alarak is laning agaisnt you consistently there is a 99% chance he took a talent at level 1 that will increase his Auto Attack Speed if he lands his own Q (Discord Strike) If this is the case and he lands Q just run, don't even stutter step just run for 4 seconds because even if he has only 103 sadism (which is no negative modifiers and a single kill) He WILL wreck you while this is active it goes without saying you need to be as unpredictable as possible, try to stay in melee range as it's a lot harder to land discord without the Telekneisis combo then it is with it.

Artanis

Pray he doesn't take Reflective Parry if he does go Q but you'll have to poke because this talent will gimp you out of literally over half your damage If he doesn't do this however then the only threat to you is fighting him with a minion wave wailing on you (read Ragnaros' section for more details) and a god swap into towers heck the fact that fights with Qhira are over quickly means even if you force the fight you won't stack him very bad so that's not even an issue.

Hogger

This is a weird one because the best advice I can really give you is don’t panic and don’t force it
Hogger on the point doesn’t want a straight-up fight like what Qhira wants so when fighting over a point all you have to do is force him into that situation, keep your back away from walls and get a feel for how far he knocks you back as him stunning you and combo’ing it is the biggest threat

also NEVER stay attached to Hogger for longer than half a second, remember he has a baseline Usntoppable that removes you,

Imperius

“In total absence of light we meet again, equal in strength my nemesis my only friend”
Imperius in my experience is one of the most fun duels win or loss that Qhira can have

Two masters of the blade, so how does this fight go down
Well there are 2 issues to contend with, 1 is Imperius Spear and the other is his Molten Armour
Now just like Alarak this one is about playing unpredictably, stutter step around him as much as you can as hitting that spear in melee range is really tough
Second of all, save your E if you can for when he uses his Molten Armour, See most of Imperius ’ damage comes from his Solarian marks which are applies by his spells and consumed by Auto Attacks, thus given Molten Armour procs damage several times a second This is when he is his most dangerous

However also keep in mind that most IMperius’ will like to combo this with Q so sometimes you might have to judge whether they are going to, and since you are stuck for a second when casing Revolving Sweep

See those mind games, that’s why this is the best fight ever.

Also you can avoid Last Rites with timed E.

The only thing that is hard to dodge with E is Pyroblast, so far.
But what Kael stays on Solo after 10th level?

It is doable though, you just have to position yourself so that you swing into it, if you are adjacent the KT just moving downwards is enough to pull it off, alternatively if it’s halfway between you and the KT doing a full 360 will usually make it come back around

*Me who read this guide after trying to duel qhira with Sonya… interesting :face_with_monocle::face_with_monocle::face_with_monocle:

As someone who really likes deathwing, I’m curious if you think its as one sided as I do.

Don’t a lot of solo laners beat DW? I mean the guy can’t even mount to run away lol

Don’t be a potato? Qhira can easily outmanuever DW and win in the context of this guide (Winning a point) though I would say there is a point maybe before level 4 where maybe Deathwing in his melee form could match her, but that goes out the window the moment Qhira gets her armour

that said Deathwing in team fights can be dangerous, using his ranged form for forcing a poke battle Qhira is weak in poke battles neigh useless (I only say not totally because if she at least still has CC to potentially counter engage when poke becomes a dive to finish the job)

What about on large maps where dw can just oneshot the wave and be super passive under towers, then teleport to fights?

in that scenario Pre level 10 if you are stuck solo laning, you lock the lane and force him away from his towers or risk losing XP
that said that is definitely a weaker scenario for Qhira just in general her PVe as a whole is her main weakness… along with both Poke and Burst/CC… the more I think about the more I kind of hope Qhira has buffs incoming… but hten I saw what they did in the reworks and I think “Maybe I shouldn’t ask for this.”
