On Braxis, I usually push with the Zerg to the enemy.
I think it depends on how many Zerg on each side.
Thoughts?

Who has how many zergs and who clears it effectively.
For example, as Artanis I would only def if my entire team helps cuz we lost the obj, or if the enemy got nothimg out of it and I’m enough on my own.
If the enemy gained no obj progression, 1 Hero is enough to def. Usually better to send the one who finishes it fast so they can join the push quickly.
If they gained a lot of zergs, if you have weak clear, push, unless you didn’t really get any obj percentage.
Solo laner should defend. Possibly one of the damage dealers comes to help him. Rest of the team pushes.
If your team lost the objective, then four man defends, solo laner pushes/soaks exp in the non enemy Zerg lane
I’d like to add to this that it also depends on where the zerg wave is going.
For example, if the enemy zerg wave is going to take your fort, but your zerg wave can potentially get you a keep, losing that fort doesn’t matter that much.
And thirdly, it depends on the specific hero (and talents). If I am in the solo lane as Artanis with Amateur Opponent, I will be much slower at clearing the zerg than a hero like Jaina or Blaze, but I will be very strong in pushing with the attacking zerg, due to my structure damage through AO. Sylvanas you will typically want pushing since she can disable structures, gaining more value from the zerg.
The only time you shouldn’t push with Sylvanas is when its a lost 100-0 objective. Shutting down structures for such a small pushing force won’t do much and you’ll most likely get ganked if you try. Plus, Sylvanas has ok damage spread to defend. Its not as good as actual AoE but unless you have a decent zerg rush, she should be defending as well.
Overall though, Sylvanas should push with every objective/boss for that reason. Shutting down the fort/keep also allows your team to go deep without being punished by the tower.
Even if you don’t dive, Sylvanas allows the objective to stay healthir for longer, since the towers won’t be focusing it.
Depends. When the enemy team has more Zerg, defend. However if the enemy team has very few Zerg, push.
Depends on how large the enemy swarm is.
But generally, the heroes with the most wave clear will defend, while the rest of the team pushes.
(Though in my SL games, I find I’m often the only one pushing with the wave no matter what. My team mates will go defend a 10% wave and ignore our 90% push)
I wouldn’t use that as a rule of thumb. You really don’t want an Imperius or Thrall to defend. You’re guaranteed to lose your structure.
Both
Kill the Ultralisks and Guardians and then go help push
You do not have to waste your time killing every small Zerg
If even one teammate can do this for their team it will save a lot of your team’s buildings while the rest go and push with the Zerg
Agreed
Send your best PVe damage hero to take out the Ultralisks and guardians
The rest of the wave dies quickly enough to tower fire and friendly minions that it’s not too big of a deal
i feel sorry for you.
Personally, I am a supporter of split pushing, at any stage of the match.
Really depends on who won the objective. If your zerg wave is weak then sending people along with it will not achieve much. If the enemy zerg wave is strong then more players defending are required. The inverse is also true with a weak zerg wave hardly needing defence against while a strong one is perfect to push with as a 5 to potentially win the game.
The first two zerg waves are likely so early on that their outcome will not decide the match. In such a case keeping split up for better soak is a good idea. However the late game ones can win matches so you either need to defend a bad outcome as a 5 to minimize damage, or push a good outcome as a 5 to try and win. If you are at a level disadvantage having someone soak the other lane is still recommended, but care must be taken as they could also end up feeding the enemy a kill trying to do so.
