The season is being extened so that the dev team can finish:
- Visible Direct MMR To Rank-Point Mapping
- Adjusted Decay System
- Reduced Placement Matches
- Seasonal Questline
- Promotion/Demotion Games Removed
I don’t know what I’m more excited about, the changes above or the anticipation of all the trolls telling us how good the “old” system was compared to this one.
Start working on that “OLD SYSTEM BETTER” posts now.

I’m sure there will be threads next week complaining about how it’s been a week since we got a fix to the never ending problems to the game.
assuming there is anyone left to complain
Just sad a solo queue option isn’t in the works, for the people who don’t mind waiting to get a game that is all solo players.
I was under the impression it was planned
I suspect many posts will be about how they lost rank because their MMR is visible or essentially visible, and they’ve been boosted up in ranks without MMR catching up.

You never disapeared so i have faith the other salt lords will also be there.
There will be easy complains if the solo only button isn’t there anyway.

bit of a self fulfilling prophecy with you being here love the irony
They just removed solo queue 1 season ago. Why would they bring it back?

Because SL rank is pretty much meaningless, as was TL rank?
I also envisioned solo queue as such:
-by default solo players can be matched with and against groups
-if they enable solo queue, the matchmaker will increase their queue time to match them with and against single players.
Granted, I can see issues with it.
BUT, I played plenty of TL games before SL was introduced where it was 7-8 solo queue players. Sometimes even 10 solo queue!
They just played TL because queue time was faster.

TL was unpopulated and comparable to solo queue there were 10 more time to find the game. So 10 % of players play the game and what I remember it was getting worse. So Storm league is ok with state of player base now.

uh, no. TL has faster queues. I had 3 minutes at peak times, and up to about 15 minutes off peak, for TL. Last season, as a high plat/low diamond player.
I’d say average was 5-10 minutes.
HL, at low Diamond, I routinely had 40 minute+ queue times. Average, maybe… 35 minutes?

I´m sorry you are true. It was vise versa.
i probably is but is a lower priority or harder to implement than the features listed. Deciding what goes into software is always a dance between what resources do we have, what do we NOT put in if we put THIS in, what is the time to implement what are the risks to the game, if you have remote regions that have a hard time getting ANY game adding another game mode spreads a thin pool thinner.
For all we know they may be implementing this in the back ground but given the implication they want to have the above features in first before they implement the solo queue.

What does reduced placements mean? And what is seasonal questline?
Instead of requiring 10 placement games, they could have a smaller number like 3 or 4. And seasonal questlines usually mean the mounts and gold rewards for finishing in a certain rank.
If that reduces the amount of mount hunters screwing up games I’m all for it.
I’ll be interesting to see the MMR’s of all the people who think “MATCH MAKING SCREWED ME !!” yeah there are bad comps but there are also a lot more of bad players playing badly.
Then the reply will be “Keep playing like this and it won’t be”
Lets not forget “REPORTED !!! must be throwing because he’s xxx MMR…” or he suck at the hero, or he’s having a bad night…
Removal of promotion is nice though. So annoying to lose your promotion game like 4 time in a row lol

It will really take a miracle for me to get back to ranked mode.
It has been going downhill since that major peformance based mmr patch fiasco. Never been good since. Each time I try to get back to it, I just don’t have a fun time.
It’s not trolling, it’s legit complains.
Still waiting on this solo queue option, also. Look like they remove it based on the last dev update post. It wasn’t listed.
