There is already a thread for this kind of thing.

Melee assassins aren’t popular unless they’re op

Since gnolls are basically anthromorphic dogs there are other possible things it could be.

  • A legendary Greymane skin. Instead of human form, it uses a crossbow and its lunge turns it into a more rabid melee form, possibly with a chain ball. From competitive point of view this would be bad as it makes discerning the form difficult, but maybe they had a solution for that.
  • A legendary skin for other heroes that have a fitting move set. We already have heroes like Junkrat have a goblin skin so it is not too far fetched that some character could be given a gnoll skin.
  • The hero is not a gnoll, but rather just something that could be mistaken as one. For example Diablo II/IV Druid which is permanently in werewolf form. Gnoll skin would be an easy Warcraft themed skin for such a hero.

Hyenas are cats.

But the rest of the post makes sense and I agree.

Are they hyenas? I only ever seen them in Warcraft III where they pretty much looked to have a dog like face, and dog like tail, and… Oh well if they are meant to be anything else I would blame the low poly graphics of early 2000 lol.

Um actually, ~puts on nerd glasses~

Hyenas are neither cats nor dogs but belong to their own family, Hyaenidae. They are actually a form of convergent evolution. They look like dogs, but act like cats, but are neither.

This has been your useless fact of the hour.

They are part of the subfamily feliforma.

That’s close enough for me.

That’s what I meant.
Carnivores (Carnivora) basically have two big groups:

  • Caniformia (dogs, bears, weasels)
  • Feliformia (cats, hyenas, civets)

We’re all eukaryotes in the end.

We are all prokaryotes which have diet on prokaryotes.

Back to the topic: a gnoll would be good as a new hero. He should have a really different aesthetic.

Not narcissistic people, they’re so self centered they are me-karotes.

If folks be doubting, they need to listen :sound:

Oh, you.

How did you datamine this?

Same way I always do - compare new versions of the game to old versions of the game, and see what was added.

The primary tool I use for this is WinMerge from extracted game files using CascView(although lately I’ve swapped to CascExplorer), and then just a general familiarity with how data and galaxyscript work

Interesting, yet confusing.

I’ll stick to biology.
