Poor Alexstraza 🐲

Dragon mommy isn’t doing so well these days, one of the lowest winrate heroes right now sitting in the bottom10 at 45%.

What is going on with her, why won’t Blizzard buff bae?

well… you see…
she is fat.

she is so big the minion planning commission expanded the lanes.

on a serious note. her only escape really is using her ult. if you pick that ult instead of lifebinder. untransformed she is rather fragile. transformed she is as big as a house and easiest thing to hit on the map.

Revelation!

…On topic, Alex was just one of those heroes who was so number-centric that she was bound to fall in winrates when they got tuned.

I’ve heard people say that she’s a ā€œbetter Moralesā€, and while situationally true, she also relies on being at full health to do that, which isn’t a guarantee.

No mobility, no escapes, a slow which has to hit twice to take effect, and talents that shut off when her health drops too low, and all her survivability locked behind ults and Dragonqueen. Even Morales can at least push people away and heal herself. It was just bound to happen, wasn’t it?

Worst part is, I wouldn’t even be able to tell you how to buff Alex without changing her kit. I guess you could just bring her numbers back up, but then she becomes entirely reliant on those numbers to keep her winrate up, and that’s not very satisfying.

You game me a silly giggle moment when i read the post and remembered alarak’s line:
So you’re the one the templars look up at… glances at his WR… he! That explains a great deal

Certain heroes take more skill than others; I’ve been in plenty of games where Alex has absolutely wrecked, keeping our team up, and finishing off kills. She’s difficult to play, and it’s all about her talents, and you can goof it up right from the start, but that doesn’t need she needs a buff.

Take warning from what’s happened in Overwatch; in an attempt to please fans screeching about ā€˜fairness’; they started buffing and nerfing like crazy, and now it’s fan base is dwindling, and people are leaving in droves.

Just because something takes more skill and effort doesn’t mean it needs a buff; it means that she’s a high skill cap character, and until you’re willing to put in the time and effort to learn how to play her properly, you should just go play somebody else.

She’s a badass dmg/laner as well as a good support. High mobility and range too.

I have played a fair bit of Alex and I think it’s her lack of utility that keeps her winrate low. I had quite a few matches where I grossly outhealed the enemy healer (even by 100k points) and we still lost.

For along time people were calling her the best support so alot of people start playing her. The only nerfs she had recently were to the lifebender after they buffed it.

I think her win rate is suffering from people not being able to play her… not a problem with her kit.

Maybe because Alexstrasza drops a big target that shows where the enemy should feed her team bullets and magic when she tries to heal.

A big part of playing Alexstraza well is knowing when and where to put her healing circles ie. Not it places susceptible to alot of aoe/high dmg poke.

I still get high healing numbers with her and even die the least in a losing game. What I’ve noticed however, she is built on spamming Q whenever it’s ready and that’s her problem. Because of this, unlike other healers when an ally suddenly gets burst down quickly and needs an emergency saving, there’s a big chance that her Q is still not ready and her W with a delay time of 3 seconds won’t help either

For example, Ana and Whitemane do have better clutch heals that save allies in critical moments. Heroes like Malfurion balance that out by having good CC.

Alex on the other hand, she doesn’t have good CC, she has her Dragonqueen instead and that’s also on 120s CD.

P.S: Alex does have both sustain and burst heals. What I’m talking about, is that her heals don’t come as fast as Ana darts for example. Even if she took Lifeblossom, it’s very doubtful that she stays over 75% of her maximum Health, especially if she is healing front-line or divers, that’d mean she must also dive to collect the flower, taking damage in the process.

Almost level 164 with Alex and going strong.

My key to winning is Life-Binder, which I seldom see other Alex players use.
