Her damage is stupid for how safe it is to play her. The AA DoT does way too much damage, like equivalent to a Guldan’s corruption DoT. It’s absurd being a bruiser or tank and literally no MR or Armor you build for is useful vs her. This goes beyond a “just play her assassin counter” argument, I’ve had this gripe for a while. It’s reminiscent of old tracer just dumping on tanks for free with no counter.
Like it’s not fun playing against a hero that has baseline faster MS built into her kit and a slow on top of that in her core kit. Even if the slow wasn’t core it wouldn’t matter because her range is just too far. I think the fix that she deserves is a range AA nerf akin to tracer. My suggested rework would be to increase the AoE of Q but lessen the damage and rework her W to range cleave to enemy heroes that are currently infected by her trait. This would be a start. Also her wisp is kinda stupid, it’s a moving ward. it should only have 1 health to kill. it lasts longer than any vision in the game and you can control it as if it was misha.
please explain, what does a tank build to negate her damage?
from all the tier lists i’ve seen they place her pretty highly. Even Grubby considers her powerful. to me she just has too much free chip damage and it does way too much.
Pointless question: it’s not a 1v1 game.
Some Heroes are stronger/weaker in certain situation if compared to others but that doesn’t mean that they are OP/UP in any way.
Lunara has counters that can put her in a rough spot, even if she’s still a strong pick. Also she doesn’t have any “broken” mechanics or skill and her numbers are not overtuned.
So basically she is pretty balanced at the moment.
Mei is the closest thing you have to negating it since ice block deals with the stacks. But otherwise its silly to intentionally look towards negating damage, that would be absurd. You do have tanks effective against her damage such as Anub’arak, ETC, and Garrosh come to mind as the poison is considered spell damage. Diablo could easily out-sustain this with his high HP pool and healing, along with a strong spell armor choice at level 1.
Aside that strong sustain healers can combat her dot effectively, Morales and Lucio immediately come to mind.
How is it a pointless question? your tanks need to be able to CC or give some form of gap closing so your team can make outcomes happen. if she’s caught out and i can’t even gap close to punish her that screams terrible design. a hero that can do stupid cleave damage with minimal effort is detrimental to the health of the game imo(vine spamming on enemy teams doing boss or in some compromising position).
My point is that she needs more counters. I would disagree, the mechanics that make her broken is mainly base 20% MS buff combined with her ranged AA distance. her poison trait is definitely overtuned, it’s not even like a ramp up like ana’s trait.
her AA range is on par with valla and others as well.
Shields are not good against dots usually, because they last longer than shields and deal less dmg than the shield during that time period. Shields get wasted against dot. Shields are against burst.
Why can’t Lunara’s counter be others instead of Tanks?
A sustain Healer will negate her dot while divers will be a real pain for her to deal with. And of course, considering her health level, CC is always a good choice.
You’re not alone in a match so there’s no problem if a specific Hero must be dealt with by someone else instead of its usual “counter Role”.
