Please make an effort to improve QM

Stop making QM a supposed random matching. People are leaving the QM in droves when total BS comps are assembled. I don’t blame anyone quitting when a team gets heals and aba hat with Illidan and Butcher. There is truly no point when such a thing happens.

Would it be that hard to at least try and improve QM comps a little bit?

Really now? Because for the most part so is this how QM has been since it was launched, more or less. But all of a sudden it’s making people leave in droves?

Possibly. It could also be an insane amount of work that could make it much worse.

How should it work according to you?

if you queue as aba, should the game actively avoid putting Butchers and Illidans on your team?
When you queue as Illidan, should the game actively put counters on the enemy team, so you ALWAYS face at least 2 blinders?
When you queue as Li Ming, should the …
This could go on and on.
Can you imagine how many dozens and dozens of variables it would have to consider for it to work the way you want?

And if they did it that way, that might suck the game out of you as you might never ever have a game where your hero can excel because the enemy team ALWAYS has a counter to your team or because the game actively prevents strong combinations on your team instead.

It could also up in situations where 100 people are sitting in queue but none of them can get a game going because it can’t create a functioning match considering all the variables.

Every game is winnable you just have to adapt.

I will admit it’s frustrating when you get 4 really squishy dudes and the enemy team gets a full on dive comp with 2 tanks and runs a stun train on anyone who so much as puts a toe out of line, but you just gotta roll with the punches.

No, it really isn’t. But players DON’T want balanced comps.

The game enforced comps before, people complained, so they changed it back to what it is now.

To be clear, this is an exaggeration. Forcing comps caused insane queue times in off hours, and sometimes could even bloat queues in peak hours. No one wants to wait ten to twenty minutes for every single QM game.

Oh also, forcing a tank and healer didn’t actually change anything. Games were still lopsided sometimes and people still blamed comps for their losses.

balanced comps would be nice but the matches will take way too long. There just isn’t enough players to do qm correctly, imo. MM on QM has always been poo poo even when weve had way bigger population.

I know it sucks when your team is

Murky
Kaelthas
Hanzo
Gazlowe
Medivh

vs

Butcher
Xul
Alarak
Zeratul
Jaina

Which one of these is supposed to be the “sure to lose” team? This looks pretty winnable from either side.

be nice if players would ask this of themselves first.

Not only is that the better route, it’s one that can actually be done.

Team A has a much higher chance of losing imo.

a needs to be able to control butcher/Zeratul to win.

Banking on a good murky to actually go octograb and grab assassins and actually have a follow up in QM is going to be very slim, and I think without octograb it becomes really hard for team A to even have a chance once butcher + zeratul just charges one of the heroes.

Most games FEEL like it’s stacked against you, when it’s just RNG. There are days, weeks, sometimes even an entire month, whatever you play you are countered to the max as if it was formulated to stop you. So I do understand the OPs frustration to some extent.

Like this week is not good for me after coming off of big winstreaks. This week everytime i pick melee assassin, i’m the only melee hero on almost every single match. But the enemy would have 2 melee assassins and one of them is always a bruiser. This match becomes hard for me because im just focused too hard and do not have the hp to withstand and their bruiser is just walking in killing the non mobile mages.

I think the hard matches for me are when 1 tank 4 mages no cc vs 1 tank 1 bruiser 1 melee assassin 2 mages with tons of cc. This is the most common i see the CC/tanks are always stacked on 1 side for some odd reason instead of distributed evenly.

Butcher is a non-factor. He cannot kill Murky, and the combination of Medivh and Gazlowe’s stun will easily keep him under control. Zeratul is the only threat to the team, but Gazlowe, Kael, and Hanzo can form a solid defensive backline. Team A needs to play conservatively until they can secure a kill, but they have more than a fighting chance to do so.

Also, it doesn’t matter if it’s about “banking on the Murky”. We’re talking about both teams playing at their highest potential. People will blame comp when it’s more often than not because they’re bad at the game.

The problem is not team comp, the problem is people assuming they have no chance or refusing to change the way they play. Yes, that is a real problem, but it’s not something Blizzard can actually fix.

its a good point. I could be biased in my experience due to me never meeting a decent murky on my team nor a medivh. IF they are all playing to the highest degree, then yes would be a pretty fair match, but my experience is it’s really rare to meet a good murky or a medivh or gazlowe.

I posted that up there assuming the average QM experience, which is gazlowe player is likely just 1 laning entire game, murky will go march and feed butcher all game, and medivh will just fly around and do very little damage and provide almost no good portals

We are talking about our average QM matches, maybe your qm matches are of that quality where murky isn’t feeding butchers all game, but the “average” qm matches here, that type of comp you are getting stomped out of the gate +3-4 levels behind on AVERAGE.

Once in a while get those outlier matches where everyone playing to their full potential but I would say during an average QM game, your probability of winning goes out of the window atleast here on the korean server with those comps.

Again, to my point, it’s not about the team comp, it’s about the players. Blizzard can’t do anything about the players.

I respectfully disagree, i think team comp may not be end all be all, but having a balanced team comp is a big edge imo. Otherwise drafting would not be part of ranked games. But more importantly players absolutely matter.

Pls, @Op, make an effort, just one!

That’s hilarious. Was this on EU? A couple of days ago I was playing solo-queue QM and went up against a 4-stack made up of Abathur, The Butcher, Illidan, and Sonya. The random fifth was Ana. It was a hard fight but my team (composed of a 2-stack and 3 randoms) won. I wonder if the same 4-stack has been slumming around.

They already improved QM last patch. The only mode that benefits from the fountain invulnerability update is QM. Best to find inspiration from their initiative and start improving oneself as well.

This is it chief.

if they haven’t done anything to fix it in all these years no way they are going to do anything now

But they did many things over the years.

QM rules, game and balance changes. I can go into detail if you want.

There is a known 5 stack on EU that only runs the same full dps comp nearly every game.
And checked thier replays on HL and what a surprice they sit in team chat and mock/laugh at enemy team they easy stomps out of the map.

Some people need to hide in 5 stacks just to fell good about themself nuking every team they face out of orbit just so they can have fun while the solo que players one by one rage quit and uninstalls the game.

No joke thats how it is now.

Here is a simple QM example:

Team A has hats and heals with Illidan, Butcher, Dva, or all 3.
Team B has only heals with Nova plus any other 3.

Team A win every single time in QM because of hat.
