Winning 3-4 QM and/or brawl to get into ranked after a disconnect is the most frustrating thing in the world. You are at the mercy of random players against smurfs. It takes an insane amount of luck to get out of this hell and back into a ranked match.
In order to pile up 3-4 Leaver’s Queue win you must disconnect pretty a lot, so get a better connection before ruining other people Ranked matches.

Leaver got penalized. That’s perfectly reasonable. They do the crime, they do the time. So long as they have not learned the moral lesson of the story, they rightfully deserved so.

Except no one is a leaver here.
It is true. You start out with 1 leaver game penalty and it builds up the more you do it. If you get to 3 or 4 you have something you need to work out.
I’d say playing ranked with an AI is a ton more frustrating…

Disconnecting is different.
They don’t present in the game that they started on their free will. And that act ruined the game for 9 other people. Some punishments are certainly due to regulate such irresponsibilities and negative behaviors. And by punishments, I mean something much harsher like no gold/exp/free lot boxes, etc… or even bans. The current one is no more than a leisure walk in the park.

I did something I rarely do the other day–I rage quit.
I’m not getting into the exact scenario, but, I alt-f4’d very early on in a QM game, before going to get some sleep.
When I went to play the next day… I didn’t have any leaver penalty!
That is because I VERY rarely disconnect or quit.
I’m guessing the upper bounds would be 1 in 40-50 games. And it probably is closer to 1 in a 100.
So if you’re being punished with 4 games, that means:
you left (whatever the cause) multiple times.
what does certainly need work is a way to reconnect from small internet blips in draft. if that is what you’re talking about.
Oh, and if you play on NA west, I’m happy to try to give you a hand “grinding” wins in QM.

It starts at 0 and increases up to 4, which means he is constantly leaving games, at least 5 times in a short period of time.
To reset your next penalty back by 1 game you must play about a dozen games without disconnecting. So to clear a 4 game penalty back to 0 for your next disconnect, you’d need to play ~50 games without a dc.
If you can’t, it’s unfair to torment teammates by playing a game on an unstable connection or PC.
Every time I had connection issues I simply stopped playing HotS until fixed.

Due to how match making works, it will be ~50% win rate so need twice as many games to be played as stacks on average. There will be deviation from this but extremes become less and less likely.
As far as I am aware leavers are matched against other leavers. Hence they have similar team constitution as far randoms, droppers, afkers and smurfs go.
