I can’t play the game because the game doesn’t support ultrawide monitors. I really love the game and would like to play it again.

Why do you have an ultrawide monitor?
You can, a friend plays it in ultra wide, it’s crazy you can both sides from your gate to the enemy’s gate. Since I don’t have a wide monitor I never bothered asking what her setting was or what she needed to do to get it like that but it can be done and I’m so jelly of how much she can see with it even if she doesn’t used it to her advantage like that.

Ultrawide is a good idea, most people would benefit since they don’t have the minimap DLC

Try running in Windowed full screen mode. That might assume the resolution of your desktop, which might result in an ultra wide resolution.
Exclusive full screen mode is a legacy option from D3D11 and Windows 7 days before Full Screen Optimisation. With Windows 10 and later, full screen optimisation usually automatically converts exclusive full screen into windowed full screen. As such on Windows 10 and newer both modes should perform identically.

You can play it in Ultra wide assuming it’s 21:9 and you don’t have super Ultra wide.
You can select it in settings, try borderless window mode.
