He decided to ignore the thread from now on i think. So let’s just do the same and ignore him. You were talking about AI hammer mains earlier, and i agree lol, at some point, it becomes a little bit too relaxing if you know what i mean
Said this in another thread about A.I, and I think many other plays who don’t like A.I because it is way to easy and boring. In my own experience, even on elite a.i my games end before the 10 minute mark and all you have to do is push a lane uncontested until you get to the core and win. When I first started playing all I did was A.I and I got bored of just winning, and winning, without having to think so I went to play against people and never went back again. I know not everyone is the same and most people who do just play A.I say oh their are no trolls, no one ruining your games, which is true, but at least it is more entertaining.
Hots was and kind of is today market as a competitive game, A.I offers you nothing and teaches you nothing about the game except for what your hero abilities do.
I’m not stopping you from playing pvp, in fact, keep playing, but i just can’t anymore because of the “people ruining your games” part.
I don’t play vs AI unless I’m just trying to finish an event quest quickly, or trying out a new hero. It is the second (or first) most popular mode according to Blizzard.
Your argument is valid, this is designed as a PvP game, but if you follow that logic it is also only at its best when played in draft modes, so Brawl, AI, QM, Custom games should all be removed.
If people enjoy playing vs AI, so what, let people enjoy what they enjoy if it harms nobody.
There’s also the fact that i still like HOTS as a game, but not as a PvP game (if that makes sense). I have other PvP games that i enjoy playing too. And i don’t think I’m harming HOTS as much as Blubblez says to be honest.
Hahaha assassins are probably my worst role tbh, especially the squishy ones that need to aim.
Having said that, if my rank is anywhere near yours then I might bump into you in a ranked game someday. It’s probably far below yours though
i had a friend who only played AI, he often invited me to play with him but once i saw his favorite mode was vs AI, had to refuse some of his invitations (cuz i dont like vs ai), and at the beginning i sometimes went with him and we played vs AI, and all was okay fun and normal stuff, but once i dragged him to qm and i saw him was pretty bad playing with other ppl, he looked kinda overwhelmed with a lot of stuff, his vs AI gameplay was more slowly relaxed and easy, and sometimes the AI do some fun stuff. also i looked his last games played, and when he tried to play qm he only had losses, like 3, 4 games ina row all losses, so thats why he liked to play vs AI (with some games won and others lost, yes in qm)
It makes sense to me and even if I didn’t as long as you’re harming anybody you should be able to play the game as you choose. If players like you were not playing vs AI it would be very difficult for me to try out new heroes in that mode or quickly do event quests.
You’re not hurting the game at all. If you hated PVP mode and were forced to play it in the way Bubb’s suggests it would only lead to people either players leaving the game outright, many playing and being toxic because they are not enjoying it.
Sure some people would adapt and enjoy it, but it’s not beneficial, vs AI mode is fun for those how like that mode and good for others to test out new heroes etc… It should also be noted I’m sure many vs AI players also spend money on this game, that helps keep it alive.
I’ll bite.
First of all, AI is a great place to warm up, especially with heroes that are new to you. You know, just get a feel for the mechanics, try a few different builds, practice combos, that sort of thing.
Second, it’s super quick for knocking off a couple of quests, especially if free time is at a premium.
Third, not everyone is competitive by nature. Seriously. I don’t enjoy losing – no surprise, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who does. But here’s the thing: I don’t really enjoy winning either, especially if I/we crushed the opponent. Destroying someone does not give me any kind of rush. In fact, I feel bad for them, and a bit angry, like I just wasted my time. What I enjoy is an even match, in anything. But that is very rare.
This brings me to the last point: pure, unadulterated bad behavior. You know what drives away good people? Jerks. (Notice how good people don’t drive away jerks.) And it’s cyclic; soon enough, all that is left is jerks. I negotiate stressful situations in real life all day, every day. You know what I don’t want to spend time doing when I’m taking a load off? Dealing with uber-competitive children whose toxic behavior is the game to them.
In summary:
- Sandbox for new heroes
- Efficient
- Non-competitive
- Chill
Why wouldn’t everyone living in the real world play vs AI at least occasionally?
Yeah, PvP is hard, especially when literally all you’ve played is AIs. But i say, he plays what he wants whenever he wants, and if he wants to try PvP again one day, it’s gonna be his move, not anybody else’s.
Amen.
yeah it was okay to me if he likes more AI than pvp, im fine for everyone who likes vs AI, but i just dont like it.
That would certainly would be cool. But sometimes when you enter, you enter in a Team with some toxic, racist, or just agressive people. I know a f e w people that hated that and never played ever again for the same reason, and a true pvp match, isn’t the best way to be if you are new.
I quit playing pvp cuz I got tired of the irritating jajaja trolls as well as people arguing over every little thing. Had people afk in core over me playing Abby in QM. The breaking point for me was when I lost a ranked match and my Plat rank I took forever to grind to because my teammates decided to ignore the core at 4% despite my ping spamming and chased a lone Medivh kiting them away from core (His teammates were dead) only to ult freeze my team and all I could do is watch (Abathur with Ult on CD) as his team respawned and melted my teammates. They stormed my core and we lost…then had the nerve to GG.
I said screw it and started playing Co-op matches less of a headache and I can actually start having fun again (minus the map hacking AI when you take ANY camp). I’ve been playing vs people since Beta so I aint losin any sleep maining against AI for a while.
AI in this game is stupid and playing against it won’t make you improve in any way. The bots are erratic, their movements aren’t natural or predictable and the only consistent thing they will do is land skillshots, which they are based on the difficulty setting programmed not to miss, ever.
It’s a waste of your time and I cannot understand how steamrolling down a lane with no resistance could be fun after a fifth time. It feels like driving laps in a single player racing game and it is completely missing the point of what a multiplayer game is.
I still play vs AI regularly, either to warm my hands up or simply to clear the quests I’ve accumulated after few days, Mainly when I don’t have time to commit to a 30 minute game and don’t want to miss out on gold rewards.
But stating that you’re actually having fun playing vs AI in what averages out to be 5 minute games with random players that don’t interact between themselves in any way other than saying hi is something you should mention to your health specialist and ask what they think about it.
It’s either fear of failing, anxiety of playing other players or something much worse. You could basically be playing anything else that is not as mind numbing and occasionally search the internet for Hots Rule 34 to get your daily fix.
I think you should get out of your comfort zone and go to the local gym to lift. Make sure you pick one with a very elitist and toxic gym culture.
Why people bash on AI players, I don’t know. They’re happy to play a completely different game, who cares? AI is a perfectly fine way to play and unwind, I do it too sometimes because unlike in PvP, I can really chill. Is PvP a more engaging experience? Hell yeah, in a lot of ways it is. Does it matter for your life? Not nearly as much as lifting weight, eating and sleeping well, developing strong relationships, working on your life goals. I challenge anyone who thinks they’re better than people who play AI on the basis of PvP being a better game mode to post how they measure up to these metrics which are actually foundational to a good life. Point being, who gives a %&@$? You think you’re hot stuff because you’re silver 3 but at least you don’t play AI? Wowzers sounds like that’s really working out for you
Farming quests and chests.
Versus A.I. might be the least rewarding thing I’ve ever played in a video game. Just play a single player game if you’re too scared to PvP.
Some people enjoy the stress and only log in to get challenged by human players. Some people want to chill and shoot stuff in bot mode, custom or brawls.
There’s no wrong way to play HotS. There’s nothing wrong with playing 10k ai games. Not everyone wants to improve or gain ranks.
That mindset needs to go because alienating AI players means alienating lots of paying customers who make a big chunk of Blizzard’s income for this game. That is why I always try to treat AI mains as friends, not adversaries.
If you want AI players to go, that means you want ~50% or more of HotS players to leave. That would probably make this game too unprofitable to continue. They buy a lot of skins and mounts.
Forcing them into human games is also a very bad idea if they don’t enjoy it. That will not create high quality matches.
Mrblubblez is a known toxic flamer. Just flag him and hope he gets banned
Uh, no. I don’t flame anyone. We have different opinions on some matters, and because of that you call me these names. Pretty lame of you. But what can I expect from you to be honest.
