I my self also make some of these mistakes the guy mentioned in the video and I just learn some good stuff. great advice he gave on how to play kael thas because I see to many bad kael thas now a days and it causes lost games quick.
Good vid, people in general don’t seem to understand his trait at all. Even diamonds just think it makes his Q radius larger.
They never use it for a triple stun or free living bomb.
I constantly see Kaels run out of mana super fast and then hearth.
I’m like, just trait+w man… at least until you get some mana back.
A good video. Not much has changed since its release half a year ago.
Although I’d argue that D+Q for wave clearing is debatable. If you picked Convection or sometimes even Fel Infusion, then D+Q may oneshot the wave, so you can move on immediately. The minions may not stand in default positioning as in the video, so unempowered Q won’t hit as much as you’d want. Also sometimes you value time or safety more than mana, so even a D+Q, W to oneshot a wave is better, just to be able to leave immediately.
But yeah, Mana Addict is so essential, that I wonder if Blizzard should make it baseline or buff the other 2 options.
The thing is, he’s not hard to play just commmon sense but the main issue I actually see is people don’t know how to position with him. regardless if you make some of the mistakes such as using his trait to lane with flame strike every once in a while, a good kael thas never dies as much.
Are you for real with that!? About diamond players not knowing that? Thats scary XD
it doesn’t matter what league your in. players make the same mistakes across the board and your HL Rank is not even your real mmr. I have played with plenty of plat and diamond players who are idiots in their games so that’s a bs excuse.
I’m a Kael’thas main and a good D usage is vital to his playstyle. Just to summarize:
D > Q: mainly in teamfights, especially when you have Ignite
D > W: mainly to poke, esp. in attrition scenarios like fighting over an objective but neither team is going balls deep yet
D > E: mainly to single-target focus if you catch someone (either you initiate or a follow up), or to disrupt / peel.
Also I see a lot of people not picking Ignite at 16 and Flamethrower at 20. Both talents basically makes Kael into a sniper by practically casting Q from a very safe range. Idk why people keep getting Master of Flames in pubs.
