Patch: Opponent Names Visible Again

    • Opposing player names are now visible in Draft Mode games.

Developer Comment: We have turned on the ability for players to see all member names inside of a draft, not just their allies. As players climb the ladder and become more familiar with the names of their opponents, we would like them to have more agency over strategic bans or counter-picks directed at their opponents. Showing the names of all players should also help grow the feeling of community in Ranked Play and is only the first of many larger updates that will be coming to the Nexus very soon!

Smart move. This is the entire point of drafting strategy. Anything else is just gambling. Nice to see that “post-HotS-pocalypse” that the developers are making some smart decisions again.

its a move by weak people scared to play against any real opposition. i have legit gm’s banning illidan all day now. kinda funny tbh. i can play other heroes better than illidan, i just prefer to have fun and hes really the only hero in this whole game that i like. another nail in the coffin for a dying game.

Any one trick knows that their hero could be banned.

If they don’t plan for it they know a ban will mean a loss. I which it was only their problem, but their team will lose with them sadly.

If you were a more strategic player you woudln’t get so easily banned.

My names is tlv and idgaf. I play or learn majority of heroes. It makes u a stronger hots player knowing comps and mechanics of heroes and being able to flex.

sounds to me that if left to your own devices you’ll play illidan. players know this about you and ban him. This seems to put a damper on your enjoyment of the game. Not sure which part of that analysis you feel is misrepresented in my reply.

Regardless, it seems that you haven’t really played since last summer so this change doesn’t really affect you much.
