Passive talent buttons should go on the end of the action bar

When you take a talent with some passive effect the game often puts a button / icon on your extra action bar, I guess so you can see the cooldown of it. Examples being Li-Ming’s Illusionist or Junkrat’s Dirty Trickster, and these fill in the action bar from left to right, ocupying [1] on the keyboard and then so forth.

This is a fine idea… except when you also get Active buttons on that same action bar which get pushed aside by the earlier-taken passive buttons. So abilities you expect to find on [1] end up on [2].

Passive buttons like this should fill the action bar from Right-to-left. Starting on [6], so they don’t interfere with active buttons. It’s still perfectly visible but no longer gets in the way.

Every time I play one of these heroes I have to take the time to manually move it to [6] and we shouldn’t need to do this.

You can rearrange them. Just grab the ability with your mouse and shift it over to the desired slot. I believe it’s by holding left click.

The game engine is just going to auto fill them left to right.

Edit: Oh wait, I skimmed your post. Seems you already knew that, lol. Sorry the game is making you take an extra step.

Or better yet. Let us preset different hotkeys for each hero and ability individually if we want.

The examples are bad, because those (at least Illusionist) are not put into the key section.

But what @waterlong said. Makes be able to customize the default placing of those talents/abikities with our Heroes.

I can’t believe I never knew this before. No more learning new hotkeys for the same ability depending on the build I choose. You just made my HotS life, thank you!

Now if only we could rearrange main abilities… Things like switching between Morales (shield on W) and BW (shield on E) has led to more deaths than I’d care to count or admit.

You’re welcome! I saw a streamer do it a while ago and had the same reaction as you. :exploding_head:

That would be pretty great. I’ve found some basic key bindings strange on new heroes. For example, when Qhira came out, I thought her mobility on her trait seemed odd. I wanted to switch it with her W, because I was used to pressing D to heal with Thrall.
