I didn’t expect to start liking mages too much but damn I would be lying if I said she isn’t fun. Anyone got any tips? Talent choices, how to use abilities, when and how to use each ult. I could really use a hand
Constantly hit Q for cooldown reset.
If you can’t, prepare to be flamed for 20 mins since Chomp is useless in fights and E has a long CD.
I hope Q cast animation or speed is slightly increased to make up for heroes being 10% faster after a recent patch.

Orphea offers quite a bit in how you can combine your talents, so you got quite some options there.
My personal favourite is without doubt Q-build as you can dash around and efficiently finish with the increased tip-damage. Training to land your Qs is essential independant of build.
A variation is the back-and-forth playstyle with Backbiter (zoom in with Q, dash out with W). I do not play that one very often, but it is fun when it works.
The damage quest for W is usually the go-to for both as it increases the chance to kill when going in, chance of survival by the 25% max hp heal and grants nice waveclear.
For both of these the enemy should not have too much fast CC/instant deletion potential.
If going close is too dangerous E-build is handy to poke them until you can go in to kill. The level 1 talent is still pretty nice if they have two frontliners, so you can hit their backline hard.
I would not recommend a full W-build, those talents work better as part of other builds.
I tried around with a full basic attack build, while not my personal taste it can work nicely and the increases damage from the level 4 is noticeable in sustain especially.
Stun would be the go-to in heroics though if your team can keep them in a small area or you go for a basic attack build Feast can be very effective.
If the enemy is melee-oriented a basic attack-build plus level 20 upgrade on the heroic can be devastating.
In regards to level 16 i would generally recommend the Q-talent, W only for basic attack build with the level 4 bonus damage and Dead Magic if the are a melee comp with some sort of regular armor (Uther) but not many high hp targets.
The thing to know about Orphea is she’s not like other mages who only use abilities - you really need to be able basic attack regularly to get the most of your Chaos and self-healing.
I prefer a Chomp-based build with her lvl 4 and 7 talents, getting you some HP, stacking damage, and auto disengage. It’s a risky play-style but very rewarding once you get a feel for timing your combos.

I love Orphea and I almost always play her when she is not banned (and almost nobody ever bans her).
Q build is practically mandatory for SL games. And if you can’t hit Q reliably - it’s game over.
W Build is only for wave clear, maybe it’s okay for quick match but full W is not a serious build vs opponents who have a brain. Some W talents are ok.
Preferences may vary but I also find spell armor necessary vs ability heavy teams, it makes her so tanky and it’s easy to replenish & stacks up unlike normal spell shield.
If their damage is burst definitely, i love that talent both for the defense and the increased basic attack while active. If they have some kind of DoT though it can be near useless as each tick eats a stack…
So far im not really a fan of full Q build tbh. I really like the slows at lvl1 cause it helps me land hits slightly easier, plus you don’t always need spell armor from determination.
I did try the backbiter talent and some other W talents but most of the time they feel very risky cause you have to get all in to get any value out of them.
I haven’t tried E build yet but AA build looks fun so far
Please don’t, Icy veins is a living meme. They are making attempts to make it better but meh, it really isn’t a reliable source of info outside of looking at what talents do
The only tip is that she is useless if u miss Q. And it’s harder to hit them than Hanzo’s skillshots combined - it’s sad truth.
you need to be sure your spells gonna hit their target, save your burst for the best moment.
She can sustain herself trought most threats, but only if you can land your spells.
you don’t need to instantly dash after you hit a Q, take your time when possible and think carefully.
about the builds? focus on whatever you’ll be able to land more often. Chomp is her best spell when you can survive the frontline, Q is the mobility one, and the E build is best when nothing more works (exceptions aside).
About the ults? pick the one that looks cool whenever the other one won’t work, and use it as an area denial instead of damage dealer.
Orphea is super fun, they really did a good job on her.
Quick cast Q should help with the movement and it’s very important to land it.
Basic attacks can heal (read the tool tip on how) and seeing as she gets up really close, she really needs to heal and heal often.
Learn her 1 shot combo build. I think there’s a Notparadox video on it.
Q build Orphea against fat tank teams (azmo, stitches, deathwing), works stupid well. They just can’t touch you, and you are always free to get the tip hits on lvl 1 talents of you choose it.
Honestly best advice I can give is don’t suicide trying to land chomp. Way too many people do that.
Her E talents are really strong against frontline heavy teams and I like using them.
But yeah Q build generally gives the best results.
That´s good to point out. I do think the window you can use it for is about 3s.
I’ve made it with Orphea to Level 22 and I mostly go the following Build:
Level 1: Ancestral Strength
Level 4: Chaotic Assault
Level 7: Mind Devourer
Level 10: Crushing Jaws
Level 13: Determination
Level 16: Bond of Anguish
Level 20: Engulfing Oblivion
Level 1, 4 and 7 synergizes in boosting her AA, while keeping her alive. Crushing Jaws is her only real CC Ability and in most Team Compositions the more useful Ult. Determination on 13 gives you finally the armour you are in need for the most Time. Level 16 is depending on which Heroes you have to deal with. The cd reduction of Crushing Jaws on 20 can be a real good Game changer.
Just dont miss your skillshots and that’s it.
Yes I been testing Orphea’s AA build and its pretty good if you cant land your Q. If you get the W CD reduction and the talent that gives you max chaos when you land your W Orphea can easily 1v1 anyone (close combat characters)and deal a good amount of dmg ALSO healing herself
