For some reason, I always end up having choppy videos when trying to record HotS with OBS. I’m not even streaming, just recording.
I’ve tried everything in the book, lower bitrate, lower resolution etc. Nothing works. This happens on two separate computers. Would anyone know what’s causing this?
(If I record any other game, it’s fine. Only HotS does this.)
Try switching your source to display capture instead of game capture. However, you have to remember this will capture your entire display, so make sure you play in full screen (or windowed fullscreen).
Secondly, adjusting bitrates serve no purpose if you do not set it to “Same as Stream” in Recording Quality, just throwing this out since you did not mention it in the first place.
If set as stream then it will take tbe bitrate that was set in the bitrate section.
Otherwise using any video quality ofher than same as streaming will take bitrate presets specifically made for those.
As far as I know, Nvenc New is made for RTX generation cards, the only thing I can say is trying playing with the settings of your game and try recording again, otherwise I would suggest to check if you miss an OBS update or remove the scene that is recording HotS and recreate it.
