Nova vs Arthas (cinematic trailer)

I was making research in order to write part 2 of my “essay” and then i notice in the comments of the first trailer how people argue that Arthas looks weak, that he can’t even beat Nova. Like if Nova is just a blonde girl with a snipe rifle who can turn invisible. But i, re-watching the trailer, was honestly amazed that Arthas endure too much against Nova.
Yea, Arthas is the mighty lich king, with a powerful armor and a powerful sword but how much those things can endure against, not any ghost, but the second strongest ghost.
I know magic can be awesome, but i doubt any magic can endure against the power of the best terran science combined with a girl with powerful space magic, also called psi.
Perhaps at the end Arthas would win, but definitely would wasn’t an easy fight, but what do you think? Did Arthas would clean the floor with Nova’s body or the fight would be too closed one?

Arthas obviously faked his death and OBLITERATED the enemy team after the trailer.

Lore Wise: Arthas, Diablo, and Kerrigan won

Balanced Wise: Probably Raynor, Nova, and Tyreal won

You mean based on their abilities from their lore?
Because yeah, QoB Kerrigan was a Psi-index Class 12, and when she became Primal Kerrigan she was too powerful to be measured on the index.
Nova was a Class 10 at base, and became roughly a Class 11 or 12 after exposure to Terrazine. And she’s probably the most powerful one on her team.

Can’t Nova, in canon, cook a person’s brain just by thinking about it? As well as thrashing them around in the air and literally creating invisible blast waves that can obliterate an entire city block (and turning herself invisible)? I’m pretty sure she is great at close quarter combat as well. Arthas seems a bit more sluggish than the sci-fi fighters and ghosts from StarCraft. It’s a pretty good match up, TBH.

She is indeed really strong in a close fight, since psionic powers can amplify the physically strength, she is strong as an orc.

I think team Arthas would have won, but not necesarily because of Arthas vs Nova…

I mean, Nova is indeed a powerful psi-user, but she’s not at Kerrigan’s level. @DeathTouch mentioned Nova being able to kill a person with a tought, well Kerri can do that to a whole Battlecruiser (larger than a city block in canon :P)
Also, don’t forget The Lich King is a really powerful telepath himself! (or at least Ner’Zul was, when he was the LK). Nova can psionically dominate a person (at least in-game in WoL), but the Lich King can do that with the whole Scourge, from half a planet away! (and Kerri with all of the Swarm, but with help from the Overlord-based beurocracy :stuck_out_tongue: )

On the other hand, it was Prime Diablo in the cinematic, so Tyrael wouldn’t have lasted 10 seconds if he tried to fight Dibbles (much like Imperius being beaten with one attack in D3 IIRC).

But in the end, team Nova would have lost because they had Raynor in it… I mean seriously, he is a hero in his own right, but he’s way over his head in that fight (lore-wise)
