Nuclear Strike
Cooldown: 4 minutes. Starts on cooldown
Channel for 4 seconds to highlight an area. After 6 more seconds, a nuke is dropped dealing 925 damage to structures and 525 damage to non structures in a huge area.
Taking damage will delay the cast. Potentially indefinitely if its enough damage.
Goes on a 30 second cooldown if canceled. (By nova or enemy)

Ghost Protocol
Unchanged.

Q
Snipe
40 Mana Cooldown: 8 seconds
Deals 320 damage to the first enemy hit.

Passive: gain a stack of Perfect Shot each time Snipe hits a hero. Each stack reduces the cooldown of snipe by 1 second when it hits a hero or Decoy. Stacking 5 times.
Lose 3 stacks each time snipe fails to hit an enemy.
(Cooldown and damage increased, mana cost reduced, new pasaive component)

Pinning shot
65 Mana Cooldown: 14 seconds
Deal 100 damage to an enemy and Slow them by 40% for 2.25 seconds.
Pinning shots cooldown recharges 35% faster while in stealth.
(Cooldown increased by 2 seconds)

E
Holo Decoy
50 Mana Cooldown: 17 seconds
Its the same except hitting the clone with snipe causes it to explode, dealing 220 damage to nearby enemies.
(This goes for all of nova’s Decoys)
(Cooldown increased by 2 seconds)

R1
Precision Strike
Cooldown: 60 seconds
After a 1.5 second delay, deals 295 damage to enemies within an area. Enemies in the center take 456 damage instead. Unlimited range.

R2
Kill shot
Cooldown: 45 sec
Lock in to the target hero for .75 seconds, then fire a single shot that hits the first hero or structure it comes in contact with dealing 175 damage. Deals 100% more damage to enemies under 50% health.
Has 2 charges.

But Y tho?

Alotta changes here. Nova has a couple of glaring issues. Her first of which being her lack of aoe but also her fairly repetitive gameplay. For the most part, all nova does all game is repeatedly burst people from range, often in the same way every time. Theres not a whole lot of cleverness or thought that goes in to using her kit. Most of this is addressed in talents but there are a couple of baseline changes that could help here.
Starting with the nuke. Its essentially a really slow Rain of destruction that youll get 3 or 4 of in a game. When and where to use these things will become an important decision throughout a game.
Next is the baseline psudo explosive shot attached to all of Nova’s decoys. When to keep clones alive or when to sac them in the name of aoe will be an actual decision that should come up regularly.

As for the other changes.
Snipe gains cooldown reduction instead of damage so an inaccurate nova can at least still do her burst instead of being completly useless.

Pinning shot just gets a bit of spicing up for some minor decision making.

Precision strike is being pusher more towards a CC fallow up ability rather then being a Lava wave lite.

Triple Tap gets a complete rework. I’ve always felt that triple tap was to big of an ability for its own good if you know what I mean. A 100 second cooldown for something that really only exists to secure kills sometimes and suprising people in a 1v1 sometimes.
The ability has been downsized dramatically and put on a charge system. In theroy, this should make it feel like a meme ult.

Level 1
Smart Decoy
Nova’s decoys can be controlled directly and uses their abilites when Nova does.

Covert ops
After being in stealth for 4 seconds, Nova’s basic attack and all ofher abilities gain 10% range while stealthed and for 1 second after.

Simple shot
Snipe deals 100% increased damage to non hero, non structure enemies.

But Y tho?

Controllable clones, yay.
Bribe has been replaced by an arguably lamer talent. Mostly beacuse of how much nova interacts with minions has changed. Hopefully with all the other new stuff, you shouldn’t need bribe to feel usefull.

Level 4

Espionage
Reduce the cooldown of ghost protocol by 30 seconds and Holo Decoy by 6 seconds.

Holo Stability
Increase the cast range of Holo Decoy by 100%, its duration by 120%, and decoys now only tale 1/3rd damage.

Ionic Force Field
Gain 50 Armor while stealthed and 15 armor for 3 seconds after leaving steath.

Level 7
Coordinated strike
Enemies hit by pinning shot are marked. Marked enemies hit by Nova’s allies or Nova’s Holo Decoys consume the mark and take 166 damage, consuming the mark.

Perfect shot
Quest!
Hitting heroes with snipe while at 5 stacks permanently increases snipes damage by 4.
Passive: while under 3 stacks, gain 1 stack of snipe every 20 seconds.

Opening shot
Snipe deals 25% increased damage for 1 second after leaving stealth.

But Y tho?

Coordinated Strike is the beginning of a new build where you help an ally get a kill rather then you doing so directly.
Also lets pretend Perfect shot is balanced. :stuck_out_tongue:

Level 13
Long shot
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Activate to enter an aiming stance over .75 seconds and reset the cooldown of snipe. While in this stance, Nova’s next snipe has 40% increased range and pierces up to 2 times. Deals up to 25% more damage to enemies further away.
Nova cant move during Long shot and casting snipe makes you leave the stance.

Lockdown
Snipping an enemy while they are slowed by pinning shot increases the slow to 80% and sets its duration to 1.5 seconds.

Anti-Armor Shells
Nova’s Basic Attacks deal 250% damage and decrease the Physical Armor of Heroic targets by 15 for 3 seconds, but her Attack Speed is proportionally slower.

But Y tho?

Anti-armor shells have been moved so that it can be taken along side Coordinated Strike and Lockdown as part of a “support” build that aims to give Nova psudo Tyrande playstyle.

Explosive shot
The explosion radius of sniping a Decoy is increased by 60% and damage by 15%. Additionally While at max stacks, snipes against non decoys also deals 70% damage to enemies near the impact.

Double tap
Pinning shot gains an extra charge. Additionally, After using an Ability, Nova’s next Basic Attack within 3 seconds deals 20% additional damage.

Apollo Suit
If nova uncloaks her self, reduce the cooldown of Permanent Cloak by 2 seconds. (No cooldown reduction if an enemy uncloaks nova)

But Y tho?

Double tap combined with the talent that sucks unless you combine it with double tap.

Level 20
Triple Tap
Nova’s decoys now casts a Kill Shot that deal half damage when you do.
passive: Kill Shot gains an extra charge.

Precision Barrage
Precision Strike gains a 2nd charge and its cooldown is reduced by 30 seconds.

Lethal Decoy
Nova’s decoys now deal 40% of her damage and Holo Decoy gains an extra charge.

Dominion arsenal
The cooldown of Nuclar strike ia reduced to 60 seconds. Additionally, Nuclar strike deals 300% more damage to heroes hit by its center. (Its a small area)

I think you forgot to mention Ghost Protocol which I’m assuming you bake into her trait and give 1 key the Nuclear Strike. But I really like your idea of her rework, especially the change to her baseline Q quest.

I’m looking forward to infinite stacking.

Personally this seems a tad lackluster. She self roots for .75 seconds to have her next snipe deal more damage. I think it can go with something more like maybe Snipe cast this way pierces all enemies, the furthest target gets extra damage, or something.

Curious question, does anyone like the current Snipe Master mechanic? Personally I don’t, but i feel like it was added into the game as a way to increase her baseline skill floor.

Whilst your suggestion has a different reward, it still has a similar flavour and just doesn’t hit the mark for me.

Spitballing ideas here, if you had to remove Snipe Master, what would you introduce in its place to make her playstyle harder?

A couple of ideas:

  • pinning shot is now also a skill shot instead of point and click
  • Sniping requires patience and a steady hand so what about Snipe dealing 10% more damage for every 0.25 seconds spent standing still, stacks up to 5?

I don’t know, anything but snipe master.

What’s the point of her having this? It doesn’t fits her playstyle at all.

Her Trait actually needs to be changed to make her unrevealabe for the first second, like Valeera does.

Why would Nova have so many AoE options? She is a sniper, not a reaper.

How big is the radius of its center? Anyway, what’s the point of nerfing this ult that much?

You changed a pretty unique ult into a bad copy of Sniper/Caitlyn.

Why would you give a ranged stealth hero aoe? I don’t understand this logic at all.

It won’t be. In fact, you will use E just to explode it 99% of the time.

Why would you nerf it THAT much? It was already easy to block it, and now it’s impossible to actually deal damage with it.

How would you control 2 of them?

What’s the point of Opening Shot when you have Perfect Shot?

What’s the cooldown?

Are you SURE that this is a good idea?

Slowed how much? Or is it left the same?

There is a reason Anti-Armor Shells and One in the Chamber are in the same talent tier.

It is a bit disconnected but it shouldn’t hurt her kit any either. There are a couple abilities in the game like this already. Stuff like rag molten core and medivh’s mount. Besides, not only are ghosts the nukers in sc2, Nova her self drops a nuke in the Hots opening cutscene.

I always this was more for stealth abilities that you activate rather then the passive, out of combat ones. Ghost protocol does do this already.

Theres no way your getting off a nuke with a 10(+) second delay on it. Anyway, its not a great aoe. 220 damage every 17 seconds is hardly gonna define her.

maybe, jania blizzard size. The point was to make it less of a pve ult. Having nuke and the ability to cross map clear waves may have been a bit much and defiantly wouldn’t be very sniper like. Not really all that ghost like either.

sniping a clone is less single target damage then sniping an enemy. Plus you wont get the cooldown reduction from snipe.

theres a reason why I lowered the damage on one in the chamber by more then half.

its the same. Again tho, if the numbers are to high in practice, just make the numbers smaller.

I feel like it would be more thematic to just make her trait Ghost Protocol instead of wasting a secondary ability button on it. Her cloak would be the passive effect.

Molten Core and Raven form fit them and their gameplay.
Nuclear Strike doesn’t fits her gameplay at all. Not to mention it’s literally Precision Strike 2.0

Yet you decided to give her this ult as basic active, and there is no longer a reason to pick Precision Strike at all because of it being nerfed so much.

Her ult is the least fun thing in her kit.
It’s fun because LoL is terrible balanced and she can oneshot by pressing R.
You remade her ult into a weak target ability which will be blocked by everything. Triple Tap was at least capable of dealing damage, but with your change it will deal nothing. IMO, it doesn’t need any change.

He has it as a talent, and his main role is a ranged DPS with dive ability.
Nova is a Stealth hero which was made to kill heroes. Same with Valeera - she is designed to kill, not to farm.

So you want to make Nova a ranged version of Samuro?

So, there is no point.

It IS an issue to give a ranged hero 80% slow for 1.5 seconds.

Right now, if you pick A-AS, your AA will deal 566 damage at lvl 16 against heroes.
With OitC it will deal ~679 damage against heroes at lvl 16. That’s a lot.

It feels very bland in my case. It seems to have not much of an impact if you have no stack or full stacks at all.
I don’t care much about the stacks. If I have some, I try to hit at least a minion or wall with Snipe. If I miss a shot, it’s not the worlds end.
Imho is it the most boring trait of all Heroes in the game.

I’m not sure about nuke either. Not that it’s inappropriate for a sniper.
The mechanic itself feels edgy to me. Is it a global ability like Consume Souls or PS or does it have a max cast range? Is it announced on the mini map like Rag’s Lava Wave or only locally like ETC’s Stage Dive?
I think it leaves questions of the right use to new players.
Nova can cancel it by herself so that it can be compared to Chromie’s Timewalker’s Pursuit. This gives new options but how useful it is, depends on the range of it.

So the use of the view is limited to a small area in the range of Nova. Quite in the same way as Decoys are used nowadays. (Put a Decoy behind a wall to get sight to the area).
It limits the usability in my opinion but necessarily! Otherwise it would be hard to balance.
Place a Decoy to blow it up feels very much like Probius’ Warprift / Disruption Pulse combo with the Catch that the Decoy can be controlled. A rare picked character would get even more rare picked with this game mechanic.
Yes I know, Warp Rift has a slow but Nova can achieve the same effect with Crippling Shot.
The rework of Nova could lead to a complete rework of Probius

I despise it.

It was my favourite talent on her, and now it got mutilated into this…abomination. It used to be a fun bonus challenge, with an actually powerful Q as a cool reward if you could keep it up. Now it’s just a frustrating chore that’s mandatory to keep your Q from being terrible, and even if you complete it it’s only slightly above average.

This feels out of place in it’s entirety, while I don’t mind the concept I just think it’s shoe horned a bit too much, maybe if it was connected to some kind of baseline quest to charge it up this would make more sense.

I would highly recomend since you didn’t give her a buff to her health or survival in the base kit, adding 0.5 seconds of untargetable to this ability would be a worthwhile buff, just enough that it cleanses her when used.

This I like, I like the new way of handling perfect shot without relying on it too much.

I don’t think this needed a direct nerf or really needing changes at all but that’s just me.

I’ll have to see how the talents interact wit hthis one, which speaking of, I’ll go throug hthe talents tomorrow at some point

that said I am going to say one thing Nova REALLY needs that you didn’t address in either the level 1 talents or the base kit, is that she is a Mana Lady of the Night to the highest order, either handle that in the base kit or give her Level 1 talents the Uther Treatment of giving mana regen stuff on all 3 of them
