and it’s solved~ people want to play as they want without caring about what’s happening around them and expect to not get punished by stealth. to make it short we’re talking to someone that hates to play against nova because he refuses to look around him and play carefully else he’ll get punished he want to play without being punished for not paying any attention~~~ i am done here and done with Nova / Stealth complainers seriously muting this thread.
Okay, so if you hate bad players so much, then explain to me again why you play Nova? A noob-stomping character that’s useless in Ranked? Why not play a character that poses a challenge to even the best players?
useless in ranked that i got to masters playing her? ok bruh as you say. and that’s my last reply to this thread have fun complaining and enjoy not learning
Not useless in ranked. It’s just useless in the hands of the feeble. DrLogan plays trash Tassadar in ranked but there’s use for it.
I just hate when I see complaints endemic to skill rather than kit or numbers.
Oh, make no mistake, I learned how to play against Nova years ago. I’m simply pointing out why people don’t like her, and why she’s a poorly-designed character.
If you dismiss all of the hate as pointless whining from bad players, you’re not going to get anywhere in this conversation.
So push like lane minions and not have anyone gank me?

Nobody likes dying, that’s why they don’t like her. See Genji, Tracer, old illidan threads, etc.
Nobody likes dying so quickly that they don’t even have a chance to fight back, or dying and feeling like there was nothing they could do about it.
With characters like Genji, Tracer, and Illidan, by the time they strike their first blow, it’s already too late to do anything. Most people don’t really mind dying if they feel like they got outplayed, but you don’t feel outplayed when you’re a squishy, immobile mage pitted against a hyper-mobile character that can nullify all of your abilities. Or when Nova walks up to you, presses Q and W, and just like that, you’re dead.
Like, how often do you see people complain about Jaina or Sylvanas nowadays? They’re pretty good in the current meta, quite good at getting kills. But their burst damage mostly comes from delayed skillshots that you can avoid, or close-range attacks that put themselves at risk. You don’t go from 60% health to nothing in the blink of an eye, or have all of your abilities feel useless. So people feel like they have an actual chance to fight back and respond against them.
It’s too late too do anything because you’re already too far extended. Which is bad play and you deserve to die, even me if I’m doing dumb stuff like that with them on the board.
Let me put it to you this way: Let’s imagine there was a character with a passive: “Can’t be hit by skillshots”. The hero’s existence is just a giant middle finger to squishy immobile mages if they end up having to play against it. All of your abilities mean nothing to them.
Would you honestly call that a good character? A character that you can do nothing against?
Except that’s not even close.
The only time I’ve ever been killed by tracer, valeera, nova, illidan, genji, etc is when I’m doing something stupid. Aside from that, I’ve never even been a target for their garbage.
They’re opportunists and if you present yourself on a silver platter, you’ll get feasted like an entree.
Saying, “Hey, here’s a guy who can’t be hit by skill shots” is not even close to the mark. At all.
Look what they did to Orphea. Shes only good in right comps now. Latest tier list show shes C at best.
That’s what we here like to call a lie. I recall many, many occasions where I didn’t really make a significant mistake, but still died at the hands of one of those characters.
Maybe a teamfight didn’t go well because a teammate messed up. Maybe I was hearthing in the bush and they made a lucky guess at the last second. Maybe I needed to soak because we’re behind on levels. There are so many scenarios where you have no choice but to put yourself at risk. You can’t win if you just sit behind the gates all game and never leave.
Spoken like somebody who’s never tried to hit Tracer with a skillshot.
Nope, you made a significant mistake. A lot of bad players don’t notice their own mistakes so taking your experiences as ‘evidence’ is invalid.
Maybe you were hearthing in a dumb spot? Happens all the time.
Good news! Nova isn’t a top bruiser, you’re good unless you’re bad!
Spoken like someone who played against and with tracer to at least lvl 10.
You’re bad, that’s the meat of it.
I’ve heard this type of nonsense a hundred times.
“I can get kills with X character because I’m a skilled player and they’re all noobs. But if someone beats me, that character is overpowered and my character is underpowered. It’s the only explanation!”
I’m not going to put up with it any longer. It’s bad for my sanity. You’re just gonna throw out the same old BS over and over.
Not surprised.
Said like a garbage tier player. Never once did I blame the character. Even if not me, the reality of what’s happening is not dependent on player feedback.
If you’re owning it, someone can say “luck” despite doing it 100x.
No one likes to take credit for their trash plays which is why we get arguments like this one.
Well, of course. People can get really attached to their characters in games, and hearing any sort of criticism about them can feel like having a dagger plunged into your heart. So they put up one layer of BS after another, saying that the problem is with everyone else, and not with the character.
The fact that you’ve shifted to insulting my skill level repeatedly despite knowing nothing about my rank speaks volumes about your character.
I’ve already said in this thread that I really don’t have much trouble against Nova. Or any of the other characters you listed, for that matter. It’s just a matter of drafting a good comp and playing as a team. I just know a poorly-designed mechanic when I see one. I’ve spent a long time studying game design as a hobby.
Maybe it used to, under the right situations.
Now you can see it pretty clearly.
It does allow you to avoid auto-attacks and point and click abilities though. And be unseen on the minimap.
I think the changes that made stealth more visible were fine, but some heroes weren’t properly compensated for it. Unlike Zeratul.
I don’t think solo 0-100 kills are good for the game.
A Diablo flip into allies, or a Garrosh throw over the wall is one thing, but previous Nova was a bit much.
But that’s why I’m for reducing damage and healing across the board but also reducing cooldowns. It addresses the power of CC chains, but allows them to continue to exist in the game to reward co-ordination.
Depending how bad they are, with Q build maybe.
Well, even Garrosh’s throw combo got nerfed. Originally, the tip of his Q pulled enemy heroes into melee range, so if you ever got within range of his Q, you were dead.
He wasn’t even that good overall, because his throw combo was basically the only thing he was good at, but it was still changed because he proved impossible to balance around such a powerful combo, and because he was really frustrating to play against. I remember that even after he was nerfed repeatedly and had a mediocre winrate, he was still banned almost every match for a good while. People just hated him.
Your stance is pretty indicative. I rest my case.
lol, what. There has never been a nova 100-0 kill. You get poked, and then you get finished but it’s never in one shot unless poke is combo’d with an ult of someone dumb enough to eat it.
