I might have to actually use it for once. Wailing Arrow is not as useful against A.I as it is against people due to respawn timers, and at level 20 it is usually Withering Barrage or Bolt of the Storm (I would like Bolt to be replaced with a talent that greatly enhances Haunting Wave) for me.
There’s a cute article in PC Gamer that was just posted about the current state of the game.
Genji… buffs? The most OP hero in the game gets buffs?
Dont blame good players for teaming up. Blame the game for not being able to find a proper matchup for them.
kinda…
- Level 1
- Pathfinder
* ADDED FUNCTIONALITY: Heroic Ability now heals Genji for up to 30% of the damage dealt to enemy Heroes. Healing amount is increased based on how low Genji’s Health is.
A straight up buff for probably the worst level 1 but… is it really all that much better than the other level 1s? Probably not.
- Level 10
- X-Strike
* Cooldown increased from 60 seconds to 75 seconds.
* Detonation damage increased from 275 to 290.
* Slash damage increased from 135 to 145.
This is a rebalance, less usable for general use since longer cooldown but higher damaage is always somewhat nice.
- Level 13
- Shingan
* Now does 40% less damage to Structures.
Just a straight up nerf, though I guess if the goal is to keep Genji siege (???) in check this would do it.
- Level 20
- Living Weapon
* Cooldown reduction increased from 10 seconds to 12.5 seconds.
With cooldown increases on level 10, this works out to be net neutral for full resets and slightly worse on less than 4 hits.
I wouldn’t call it buffs frankly, but hey, its something!
good changes to lunara and imp. Why is the dev team scared to fix chromie and tyrande. till then this game has no balance in the draft.
It would be more impactful if it was from genuine forum users and not the dumpster fire that is reddit.
Regardless, Blizzard is gonna be eating crow if it is not an HotS revival from all the excitement the teaser had set fire to.
That was a good read.
Here’s the article in question if anyone else wants to go through it:
this is 100% true. hopefully one day more people can understand how important balance is to the draft.
Zagara nerf on the only thing that is even making her valid, unlucky
i also think they should remove stacking, but i think they should remove it everywhere in sl. the toxic boosting is at any level of play and completely ruins the experience of ppl.
if not, at least have all stacking ppl ranking as same lvl of the highest in rank within the stack. like, if 5-man with 4b+1p, all of them should count as platinum, if 1d+1master 7k, both should count like master 7k.
yes pls give probius 3 pylons at 20 baseline!! also, give medivh and vikings some alternatives, every talent tier has a mandatory talent… no room for different builds at all.
but at least this will revive the other ult for malth, I think this is good.
on the other hand genji buffs are unreal. everyone hopes he gets nerfed and instead he gets a buff. with all the heroes that never see play in higher ranks they give the most op hero buffs. im speechless
Not every hero needs to receive direct changes just for the sake of not falling into oblivion and as one character becomes more attractive to play after a minor adjustment, it’s likely that another one who was up to that point rarely played turns out to be a good counter or partner.
Unfortunately figuring out what the new meta could be takes much longer now with a reduced pool of players and because we can no longer rely on the stats websites for accurate information.
As a previous enthusiast I believe she has a healthy talent tree but her main shortcoming is how vulnerable she is to debuffs; attack speed reductions, blinds and spell reduction because her heal cooldown reduction mechanic is tied directly to landing attacks and as such she suffers disproportionally more than many other healers who also rely on combat to meet their full potential.
Ana’s snipe and Malthael’s aoe ults becoming more attractive are both very good news for Tyrande. 33% Execute is the one mechanic she can literally do nothing about but Malthael has steady tickle damage, which opens up more room for Hunter’s Mark build. If Ana chooses to stand still more often, that’s great for the owl companion counter play and the likeliness of getting bursted down by a nanoboosted mage drops significantly, which in turns makes her less frustrating to play.
Speaking of, I dare the Janitor to make some changes to The Butcher. It must be around 5 (?) years since he even had a minor talent adjustment. Add a global teleport functionality to Blast Furnace, just for the meme’s alone, why not?
As a tank player, I’m fine with it, but it really was the talent keeping Zag viable late game.
Global teleport sounds insane but then again in Diablo franchise he would randomly spawn on top of the player at the worst or most opportune moment, depending on how you look at it.
My dumb idea would be to double down on his “no escape” concept with a new mechanic which would in some way prevent an enemy player from using hearthstone, because nowhere is safe but the spawn area with Butcher running around.
If the entire characters’ winrate is dependent on one (overtuned) talent, its important that that talent 1) gets nerfed to reasonability, so that 2) the character itself can get numerical buffs/mini reworks to increased general viability.
Besides which, Mutalisk is still perfectly fine for non-ARAM and Jagged Barbs is super underrated in ARAM, I’ve won quite a few games skipping pre-nerf %damage Roaches and going for jagged barbs instead since it allows you to fairly easy outrange most AACs and with a decent number of level 4 stacks, makes you hit quite hard indeed.
- Anduin has replaced Malfurion as the Ally hero in Try Me Mode.
So why did they suddenly get tired of Malf after 8 years of him being your ally in try mode ?
This is a change that does nothing lol.
Would be funny if you could mark an enemy without them knowing, and then have an active that makes their hearthstone teleport that enemy to butcher instead of fountain. Could probably be made hard to trigger, so it’s more of a low-ranks meme (like butcher in general) than a stomper, + a skilled opponent will know you picked that talent and be able to guess whether the conditions for the tricky hearthstone are met.
To make butcher viable though, I’d give him a strong 20 (preferably one like hasty bargain, either costing meat, or making it so you can still lose meat after having 200). The upside being he gets some utility. Perhaps Pudge’s ult as an active or after-charge effect or pre-furnace blast effect, or even a hook, or a trap causing a bonfire, or throwing his axe at an enemy, causing him to be unable to AA for some seconds and stunning the enemy for that time too.
Level 4 stacks are a meme, if you think you want to get that value™ then you just go for envenom, it does better with less risk of the target leaving your range and not relying on a crutch stat padding talent.
% summons on 16 is picked a lot because the other two fundamentally don’t do anything in practice and both of which suffer from a stat padding issue. Muta has a play of splitpushing zagara build but that is already a hell of a niche of its own.
Justified an expected nerf, unacceptable to keep the hero in this state though.
