This has me frazzled. Balance patches and brawls are one thing, but this is the first actual bit of new content that they’ve added in two and a half years. Like, it’s nothing fancy. It’s just recoloured faces stuck on an existing body, but still. Does it mean something?
There are credible rumors HotS will be added to GamePass next month.
Yay new content even if it’s reused
Do we know for sure that these are newly created cosmetics or is there a chance that these assets were made in the “before times” and have just now been added to the store?
I mean, we don’t, but does it matter? Either way it’s new content that’s been added to the game.
I do think there is a major difference between adding previously unused assets and actively creating new stuff.
I guess a better answer would be ‘why now’? Like, either way something changed where they’re now adding something entirely new.
This isn’t “Entirely” new, this isn’t anything new. They just removed their helmets and edited the faces… how is this even remotely new!?
Its using old assets… there shouldn’t be anything exciting about this at all.
for peacekeeper johanna would it not have been more accurate to make her blonde like reinhardt? I know Johanna is blonde by default but twas just a thought
On the one hand, that gives me hope for possible return to development.
But on the other hand, I am worried what that content could be. Hoping that it doesn’t try to make it more like League.
There is a Peacekeeper Johanna portrait already in the game that shows her with blue hair.
It’s a new item that hasn’t been available for purchase before. It’s the first time that’s happened in years, and it’s coinciding with the return of a gamemode that was dropped because they didn’t have the dev power to maintain it. If you don’t understand the significance of that, I can’t help you.

That is my guess. This year’s Blizzcon could be interesting.
The description hints at Johanna crossing over into Overwatch with her adopting the equipment of the Crusaders. So it is not really her being Reinhardt, more that she has adopted the German Crusader ‘customs’.
Valla’s also hints at taking a jaunt into the multiverse, though why she adopted Reaper’s clothing I have no idea. The last bit hints at ‘former comrades’ so…she may have visited prior to Gabriel/Reaper’s fall in Overwatch or is refering to the other heroes that wound up turning evil later on. It is a bit confusing.
Raynor’s just has him getting grumpy and wanting to put on a mask.
The real question is, does the new Jojo skin use the voice filter that makes it sound like she is trying to talk while eating a pillow?
well they probably didn’t have the actress record new lines in the booth, and they probably didn’t open and edit the original voice files…
so they had someone record the lines from a headset playing the game 
They were probably already done or near completion when it went into maintenance mod but still is awesome!
When I briefly logged into Hots yesterday, I could see these skins, but now I can’t find them anywhere. I’m willing to admit it’s most likely an oversight on my part, but where are those skins now? I couldn’t find them in featured or under Johanna/Raynor.

They are also in ‘skins’ with their respective hero.
They aren’t on the first page, or on the last page. They’re lumped with other Overwatch-themed skins since they’re the same skin with the mask/helmet removed. Depending on what skins you have unlocked, they might be page 4 or 5 unless they are the only skins you don’t have unlocked.
