Never seen Tracer depressed or broken ever. She’s actually the most optimistic character in HotS. Always cheerful even when she kills.
You must have mistaken her for someone like Valla or Maiev.

She is completely broken. The whole kit needs to be redesigned. It works in an FPS. It does NOT work in HotS. The result is that Blizz balances by offsetting her nigh uncatchable constant escapes by giving her pitiful damage that anyone who actually plays her whines they can’t kill anything.

The kit is broken. Hypermobility is broken. The game is built around a core movement speed. All skill shots, AoE size, AA range settings, etc are built around it. You don’t toss out the entire game because of the broken hero concept. You toss out the broken hero concept. Unless of course, you want to make her stutter step all game so she actually obeys the core movement limits… (Yeah, that was rhetorical… that isn’t going to happen).

Yes, let’s make every DPS a clone of Raynor. Pushing the limits, experimenting with the formula, and playing with the genre are three of the ten Deadly Sins. Every game should just be Dive Kick.

This might blow your mind, but Tracer isn’t even that strong. She’s like… maybe comparable to other Assassins now if you’re good. (Or your opponents are bad, which seems to be a common thread.) Also, she was absolute doo-doo for like two years prior to the rework.

Learn to play against her. Vs a team that knows what to do about her - it is extremely hard to do anything well.

  1. Turn on her. She dashes in - forget attacking those “almost-dead” tanks and just right click her. She is so squishy that even mage autoattacks eat up her HP really fast
    The most common mistake I see is people just ignoring her and letting her do whatever in their backline. Literally just drop attacking EVERYONE else and turn on her if she dashes in. You can kill her way faster than even a mage, and you’re going to have 4v5 situation if you do.
  2. Don’t run away from her. It’s almost pointless unless you’re literally 3 meters away from your wall or you’re Hanzo who can jump over the wall. You have more chances of living if you attack her instead and force her to back.
  3. Learn to hit your abilities, especially CC. Tracer can be a bit tricky to hit compared to other characters, but it’s not impossible. In fact, I sometimes meet people that hit almost everything no matter how much I try to juke, and I’m a decent tracer. Chances are, most Tracers that you meet are either my level or below.
  4. Point-and-click abilities are a bane of her. Especially things like Uther stun. Most healers can take some version of shrink ray which helps too.
  5. Any Auto-Attacker can simply right-click her. you will kill her WAY faster than she kills you, especially if you can stutter-step to make her bomb miss.
  6. Don’t run away from your team. Instead, run towards them so you can be helped.
  7. When she rewinds - look for a circle on the ground and catch her there.

Stop complaining about a hero that has so many exploitable weaknesses.

Nerf OP.
Nerf him until he reaches 10 characters.

If you’ll read my last sentence again with the parenthetical, you’ll find that I already addressed your concern. I do not expect Blizzard to make Tracer into Raynor. Valla would be closer, and I wouldn’t advocate for that either, because she’s just as hypermobile and the solution to her is the same as for Tracer, draft the whole team around locking her down and bursting. That should’ve been clear from my comment.

If you read the first paragraph of my previous comment, you’ll see I addressed this concern as well. Blizzard has attempted to balance the broken hypermobility by making her squishy and weak. It’s a bandaid over a broken underlying problem. As I said before, players who like trolling with her complain she can’t kill anything. It doesn’t matter what her numbers are. The core problem remains unresolved. You either draft your entire team around locking her down, or she bounces all over the damn screen, laughing at you while she picks off whatever her team weakens, and no one can hit her. It’s not fun.

The issue isn’t a comparison with other assassins with proper kits. Proper kits are welcome. Hypermobile is not. Tracer breaks all the rules. She moves and attacks at the same time and can perfectly kite without stutter stepping. She has more than 1 displacement allowing her to use it both to initiate and escape danger without risk. Genji’s even worse because he gets multiple displacements, but also deflect if you try and burst him when he dives, and he can use his ults for additional mobility. Both are broken. It’s doesn’t matter what the numbers are. The kits are broken.

Tracer was one of the longest-running nerf heroes in the game.
After this rework She is again playable and not op at all, since the damage of its heroic was quite nerf.

As well as her AA damage, and quantum spike damage, and reload time, and AA range.(And recall duration, and recall delay)
