Blizzard, the newest patch was the biggest mistake you ever made in HOTS, you’re turning it into League of Legends with these new mechanic and rendering half your heroes unplayable in the process.
The measure is supposed to go against diving and dominating but is actually making sure that heroes (especially melee heroes with aoe) can basically never push without being punished hard by the opponent. As an example, when I was trying to do a bit of siege against a rexxar that I was laning against with qhira, I wanted to use my Q to push a bit harder, seeing as her push is really weak to begin with, I accidentally hit the bear who then stunned me in front of two superpowered turrets that made me go from 90% health to 0 in the time of 1 stun. This is extremely frustrating and basically leaves a hero like qhira with nothing to do.
My alternatives to pushing with aoe here were as follows:
a. push without aoe, which is the same as not pushing at all
b. go do a merc camp, which takes very long with qhira and can easily be punished by opponents.
or c. go gank somewhere which is effectively useless because everyone vaguely in range of turrets is now basically free from ganks.
None of these options work for me and the reason why I play this game over League of Legends of DOTA is exactly because it isn’t superlimiting, doesn’t force you to spent all time in lane looking at minions dying and allowed you to move aroudn more freely around the map.
If you have to keep this stupid new rule in place to “punish diving”, try some of the following options
a. tune those turrets down, they do 200% more damage than they need to and they make the game unplayable
b. limit the new focus rule to forts and keeps, so aggresive players can still push the front and don’t get completely discouraged from ever pushing anything, moreover it’s more sensible since “diving” implies actually going into their base in the first place
c. disable the rule for “heroes” like misha and TLV, part of their mechanic is that they get some more punish in more situation and allowing them to be hit at least gives melee assasins something to do.
d. change your name to “League of Legends but without gold”, because that is essentially what you turned yourself into.
buff the cannons. i enjoy seeing all this butthurt. they should be able to rip people down to -100% armor
I actually did not even notice those changes at all in my first game after the patch, until i saw the core doing stuff. Can´t be that dramatic if one can overlook it that easily.
if you enjoy looking at the game so much while waiting for the minions to get close enough so you can finally attack them, why don’t you play league of legends?
Your comments make no sense. I realize some meanie towers blasted you to smithereens, but I think you’ll learn in time to fear them as you should, rather than completely ignore them because they’re meaningless, as they have been for the past 5 years.
again, this patch affects melee heroes way more than it affects ranged heroes, it’s easy to not be affected if your lunara just jumps out of cannon range every time she hits someone, it’s another story if you’re thrall and now have to run for your life because your lightning bolt decided to hit a viking
Because now it allows cheesy plays by bad players that go unpunished.
Go to the OW forums and you’ll see the disparity between “skill” and “No skill”.
I was already ok with some random Stitches using Gorge on me and putting me into the archers in Towers of Doom, but he also pushing me into the forts cannons with his hook as he is dying and has to retreat to take some hp off of me? woah dude, great player.
Let’s promote mediocrity and make good players be punished because some guy doesn’t stand seeing a death screen.
I don’t care that much to make a topic, but it’s one of the reasons im considering uninstalling.
ahh I can comment again, I just want to have an explanation from you, why the change that was meant to reduce diving (which is quite hard when the fence is still up) also needed to involve the fence towers. Because those are punishing pushing way more than they are punishing “diving” which you can just prevent by going behind your fence anyways.
It’s such trolling or what?
what would be trolling where?
The towers are fine. The only thing I want is to return the ammunition for them and add the ability to charge the towers. And those who aching that the towers are too strong, need to turn on the brain. Therefore, the report.
did you even bother reading the thread? don’t you see how the fence towers being like this affect melee heroes way more than they affect ranged heroes?
What is “using your brain” in that context? just not sieging, recalling and barely playing the game?
I am against the simplification of all that whine about. This is the path to degradation. I say that everything is fine with the towers. Your word is against mine. Who are the developers most likely to listen to? Of course whiners. And then people are surprised - why did people play so badly and so many bad teammates?
right, but I’m not just whining, I’m providing arguments and solutions, this itself is a solution for the people “whining” about diving being too easy, I’m saying they did an overkill with their solution and now made pushing too hard for melee heroes.
I also explain why that is the case and why it’s unnecessarily the case.
If you don’t like people bringing up arguments or complaining about changes, why would you enter this thread?
Again. Your suggestions are simplification, simplification is the path to degradation. All.
Ive been saying that for a good 2 years at this point
You can still siege, you just can’t go toe-to-toe with a hero (Rexxar, are you nuts?!) under two towers.
Guess what? This is fine! You do a bit of siege, pull back and rotate to another lane (or wait a bit for next wave, repeat). Rotations have always been the way.
just because it’s simple, doesn’t mean it’s wrong, melee heroes need to be close to turrets to hurt them so if they accidentally hit someone else, they get punished hard in this new system, simple but not wrong.
I didn’t go “toe-to-toe” against rexxar, I tried sieging but since you are supposed to use abilities while sieging (else you don’t really do any damage), you are likely to hit misha when you use those. This makes sieging impossible.
Rotating to other lanes isn’t really an option because of the strength of fenceturrets as well, since ganking just became way harder and way more punishing, the “waiting” bit is my exact problem with this.
If I wanted to wait for minions to come into my lane while staring into the abyss, I would play league of legends, the whole reaosn why I preferred this game so much over league of legends is because you aren’t completely stuck in a lane and have more chances to interact with other heroes when you do because the turrets aren’t an absolute no-go-zone. Your answer shows the exact reason why I hate this change, I don’t want to spend my games waiting for minions or honestly even intereacting with them.
Holy moly, your exaggerations keep getting more and more intense. Changing 1 (one) aspect/ feature of HotS that is now similar to how a feature/ aspect works in LoL (and Dota, and Smite, and Hon) is not making HotS LoL. I repeat: this single change does in fact change the game yes, but it still is LIGHTYEARS away from LoL. Don’t believe me? Play 1 match of League and you’ll see how vastly different the two games are.
