EU server, saturday on middle of the day and evening. There are no games. I say, blizz, its time to remove a rank. Remove Diamond. The rank you get after plat 1 is master. And remove rank decay.
At this rate, high ranked players will make smurfs to find games. Absorb more rank points on their way to their true rank. Everytime they absorb they make it harder for other players to reach higher rank and fill those queue times. Once they reach their destination, they repeat the process of making a new account. Spiralling the system to make ranks useless. Everyone will eventualy play on the same rank.

Master/GMs have been playing on smurf accounts for years cause thier own rank have so little players left. Just some weeks ago i saw a Reddit post about someone in master who had 4 hour que without any game.
At this rate GM and master becomes irellevant since most people will stay down in lower ranks aka diamond or lower to get more games.

There will never be an influx of more diamonds and masters in the current state of the game.
The main way these people (especially on low pop servers) can find a game is by making another account so they can play against lower rated people, which is inadvertedly smurfing that creates even more toxicity among the players they defeat who don’t understand what they’re doing wrong
(because a gold 4 is not supposed to be playing against a Master 2500 points who can’t find games on his original account).
Nobody is to blame, the fault lies flatly within the system being unable to attract enough players across all skill levels. Which then becomes exponential as the population drops lower and lower.

Like most HOTS players, you have no idea what you’re asking or what you’re even talking about.
For one, there is no incentive to reach those ranks because there is no reward for bothering. The “competitive” scene for this game has been completely tepid for a very long time.
Secondly, the people who do bother to stick it out for ranked queues cap off at Platinum for a reason.
The proof is in the pudding; just go look at any streamer who plays on a Diamond/Master/GM level - they’re literally playing games like Battle Brothers and Darkest Dungeon while they wait for 20-30 minute queues; and that’s on a good day.
If you want “everyone to play on the same rank” then you literally have to make a smurf account and play in Bronze, because that’s where everyone is out of necessity.
