My issue with Maiev's Q

Imo smth need to be done with Maiev’s Q ability.
Hitting at least two targets to get the reset isn’t that hard but to get really value out of it that ability need to be spammed every 0,5 sec.
I think that 0,5 sec is just too fast for a skill shot like that.
It makes it uncontrollable if the next Q gonna miss or not and too often it just turns into a matter of luck.
Sometimes the opponents are positioned perfectly and Q can be spammed like mad and sometimes the opponents randomly move and Q misses.
I have the feeling though that on my level of skill (gold 1), most opponent teams are not knowingly position each other in a way to make it harder for Maiev to spam her Q.
All of that rather seems to happen randomly and unpredictable.

Imo the reset CD of Q should be lengthen to like 1 sec but the dmg significant increased.
That would make aiming easier. It would turn Q more into a controllable skill shot and less of a spam ability.
I know, like that it would be harder to get the 5 stacks for cruel chain.
Maybe those could be reduced to 4 stacks with each stack giving more bonus dmg?

What do you think about it?
You feel the same about Maiev’s Q or am I just bad in aiming?

Maiev is supposed to do lots of damage to clumped up enemies and her Q is designed around that. Additionaly if the Q damage got increased something else would needed to get nerfed. Probably increased base cooldown on Q.

I think that Maiev relies so much on fighting clumbed up opponents, is exactly the issue with her and that’s what turned her into a niche hero.
When Maiev was released she was supposed to be a counter to hyper mobile heroes like Genji, Tracer or Lunara.
The issue is that such hyper mobile heroes aren’t stacked with the team so they are terrible targets for the Q ability.
In fact, Maiev as she is right now, is the opposite of what she was supposed to be. She is a counter for melee heroes with low mobility while hyper mobility heroes counter her.

Lengthen the reset CD of the Q but increasing it’s dmg would make her more effective against single opponents while fighting clumbed up teams would be still her strength.
She could be used against more kind of opponent drafts and would be less of a niche hero.

IMO she wasn’t originally intended to counter hyper mobility. I assume the devs tried to push her in that direction after seeing the dislike hyper mobility was getting.
And you are right, displacement abilities are always more punishing on immobile heroes then on mobile.

First things first, she is one of the strongest heroes in the whole game worth as a first ban/first pick in any map.

Now, about her Q, it’s really fine. You don’t need to press Q all the time. If you are new to her, just take your time to do another Q until you get comfortable enough and you’ll see it’s not that hard to get those sweet resets over and over again.

Maiev is not niche. She can fight well against clumped targets and non clumped. She is very strong. However it is hard to use her correctly. For now I’d say it’s a learn to play issue

Well, since it seems to be a l2p issue I’d like to know how you manage to get Q resets from opponent drafts that have +3 range characters.
How do you manage to top the dmg charts against such drafts?
Is there any Maive guide that you can recommend?

I played her to level 28 and yet I have a terrible hard time to get these Q resets on enemy teams with +3 range characters.

And when are we nerfing her displacement and isolation mechanics if you make her dps easier to pull off? Everything has a price.
