The problem is so many of the bigger companies have fallen into the “Go big or go home.” mindset that if a video game, movie, show, or anything reall is not bringing in money like a winning lottery ticket pre-tax cut they get upset. Although part of this is due to them spending and wasting so much money on products that they need to make a ridiculous return just to break even.
In addition the obsession of road maps in games that are underdeveloped to then be released with a plethora of bugs, not enough content, and other issues forcing the developers to play catch up post release in addition to try and release what should be in base game but it is called “content”.
Then for games that do draw in a crowd such as Helldivers 2, and–debatably–Halo Infinite either the developers cut themselves off at the knees or the publisher does.
Though in hindsight, I am just rewording what was already said and what we already know, but sometimes it is fun beating on the expired horsey.
I do agree having a larger team on HotS would be nice; around the 25 mark max I think would do wonders.
