Why would you rework a useful hero and not just create a concept for a new hero? I consider Medivh as a good hero, but hard to play hero. The only thing I don’t like about Medivh, when I watch KhaldorTV for example that everyone is always picking Portal Mastery… this talent seems to be mandatory. It should be baseline or the other talents needs a buff.

Have you evidence that he is too strong in high ranks? Heroesprofile? I see him banned or picked in high ranks, but from what I see I wouldn’t really consider him “too strong”.

He needs no rework. He has 4 bad talents and that’s it.
Also your goal is to make his talent diversity better, but you nerfed already bad talents.
You want him to be less difficult and in return less strong but you overall buffed him by a lot. So now he’s easier and stronger.
We need hard Heroes (just like we need easy ones: Lili).
I don’t like the idea of a rework, nor do I find yours good or on the spot (achieves its goals).
So you removes his quest for an infinite quest, but makes it harder, so it’s potencially useless. Like Falstad’s new W quest, where Blizzard increased the requirement that it’s considered useless, because can’t be completed realistically until the game is over.
Hmm. In order to make medivh better in lower ranks i think you would need to remove his portal from his kit. Youd also have to give him more dmg ultimates for teamfights bc a good leyline is hard to come by and hard to get followup.
I am curious about his quest completion rate in pro/gm vs gm games.

We already have a lot. And i didn’t make Medivh easier, just more stable. Yes, there should be a difference between good and bad Medivh, but right now it’s too much.
It’s not, because you will reach the same damage most of the time. I just got rid of that powerspike, because it actually matters a lot.

Guess you don’t understand what “Support” role means. And tbh Medivh can already deal decent damage.
For me, all of medivhs abilites and most of his talents are already pretty fun. I think if you wanted to mess with him, replace his bad talents with a new build that lets him work better solo so he’s pickable in QM.
Bad talents:
- Anything on lvl 1 that is not Portal Mastery (those two needs to be combined)
- lvl 4 Mystic Assault(? which gives him heals from AA after you hit a Q)
- Mage Armor (the one you nerfed).
It’s bad because Armor is antisynergy with all of his FoW related talents (and the base ability). And it’s nerfed because it’s less burst protection now.

Why is that a problem? The Hero shouldn’t be borderline op, but he needs to be hard to use. Therefore he’ll be super bad in noob hands.
Yes thats the point lol. You cannot balance a support hero for lower ranks, all of them suffer from low winrates.
Kinda curious how you feel about Temporal Flux and Guardian of Tirisfal?
Temporal Flux is bonkers. You don’t need extra dmg or Portals imo, but the spammable Heroics are op.
Guardian of Tirisfal is nice for some weird QM games, especially if you could stall the game against Aba till lvl 20.
I like these talents very much.

Only support? I would say you can’t balance any hero for lower ranks. If it would be just support you would actually prove SMILES points, because Medivh isn’t “just a support”, but he would fit the role ranged assassine quite well. The only true support that fits no other role is Abathur.
You mean TLV. Aba could fit a Healer if ppl would want it.
The RavenLord saves us from that, but he actually waa used as a Healer in pro scene.
He could fit bruiser, because that’s basically what he does all day: three solo lanes and camps (almost). And he also deals some nice damage later in the game, if he goes for.

Ravenlord skin for Medivh when?! They could also create some interactions between Orphea and Medivh… like they did with the announcer.

True, but still if I draft a TLV in my comp I would most likely exchange the bruiser or second assa for it, but mostly bruiser. And Olaf can semi work as a mini-Misha.

It’s either bruiser or damage dealer. Depends from enemy comp and your team’s game plan.
If bruiser deals enough dmg, he can be a good addition for 4 men. Even Zarya/Medivh can replace one of dmg heroes in 4 men (and go hyper carry with Valla/other hero).
