I love hots. dont get me wrong.
But holy my god. The matchmaking in terms of team composition in QM has been awful since day one.
And its still awful.
There are enough people playing QM that it doesn’t need to be this way. Get some better metrics on what heroes are equivalent. Even if its just amount of CC (since the game is a stunfest anyway).
Getting absolutely rolled because your team comp sucks is unacceptable in any moba.
And yes, i know that QM isnt storm league. It isnt ment to be. A large portion of the playerbase doesnt actually use storm league, and this game clearly isnt set on trying to be super competitive.
Anyway, rant over, keep up the good work all ye lurking Devs. Hots really is awesome but holy MM is bad.
By the way, did QM comp matchmaking used to be bad when more people were playing?
Eh, its just one of the downsides of letting people pick any hero they want. Personally I don’t mind it as much.
Best thing we can do is be nice and pick up some friends. What kinda world do we live in where heroes of the storm is a better social game then world of warcraft.
Worst is when you face double steath team with Aba on thier head and your team is half mage team.
Or get matched up againts a team with high siege power and your own team has low wave clear.

The QM matchmaking used to be worse kinda, i mean it depends i guess.
When the game started out, you didn’t check roles before entering anywhere, so like QMs could easily consist of 5 DPS vs 1 Tank and 3DPS and a Healer if i remember correctly.
The way matchmaking is now is not bad, it’s just that people in general don’t like QMs i guess.
It is a QUICK MATCH so you could be sitting in the que 4 ever to get good team comps but you wouldn’t want that either.
HOTS Players are a really tough crowd to please, especially since we ain’t that many left and it seems everyone has their own opinion now.
Some of us wants the QM to be chaotic, some of us wants it to be like ranked but not ranked, and some of us like QM abit casual.
I myself use QMs to prac heroes, and i think the QM matchmaking is as good as it will ever be.
It sorts out roles and matches teams up against each other that are about as similar as it comes, making the games as balanced as it can without making you wait for 1 hour.
It also tries to keep the ranks as close as possible to each other, so it kinda depends on how you look at it.
That’s when the enemy is a team in QM and the two stealth they have taken is either Samuro/Valeera and Zeratal. Your team gets stuck with a Nova, Tracer, Alex, Muradin and a squishy mage for them to kill.
