With EA’s hold on star wars games gone, anyone can make a Star Wars game now .
Thus should Blizzard make one? By extension if the new IP is successful will you welcome it in HOTS?
I would prefer they make Starcraft Ghost or anything related to Starcraft.
I fail to see the charm of Starwars since I always have found Starcraft way more interesting and I’m not interested at all in any Starwars game.

Man I lost track of starwars after the movie with Jar Jar in it xD and I only know the one meme you say when you don’t like sand.
I think they should focus on what they have already built. It just feels like all companies are looking for the next big thing rather than actually sustaining the successful franchises they made, and blizzard is no exception. By the time a moderate community is built around a franchise or another, they’re already gone to develop the next best thing leaving their older ongoing projects in the dust I feel.

I can imagine them being all cartoonish like WoW. You need to raid the Death Star for some Loots and somehow finding a portal that leads into the after-life where they meet Sidious who’s locked in a place that’s its own version of the Maw lol.

Why the heck would they make Star Wars, when they already have StarCraft?
People keep forgeting that StarCraft is a big name and brand in gaming, and I’m pretty sure that EA or any other smaller developer, would love to get their hands on StarCraft.

Blizz is a company I wouldn’t want to have touch star wars. Honestly, even EA is better. Not to mention SC is basically a dead franchise to them anyways. If they’re going to do any Sci-fi, they’d better start with that. There’s still plenty of potential with it.
Wait, I got any idea actually. Maybe Blizz can make Star Wars Empire at War: Reforged! Now with no space battles and half the tech tree of the original

Star Wars won’t become Blizz just because they make a game with it.
Same with Superman (what they actually did) and any “Activision game” (like Destiny and CoD).

On the one hand, Blizz hasn’t made a game based on an external IP since Death and Return of Superman" for the SNES.
I remember reading an article where they explained that Warcraft was going to be a Warhammer game, but they ultimately decided to create their own medieval fantasy setting, because they didn’t want to be tied to the IP owner’s scrutiny ('cause they had not-so-pleasant experiences with that when developing Justice League Taskforce and the aforementioned Superman game).
On the other hand, I think none of the people who worked at Blizz at the time are still around (?), so maybe they don’t care about that anymore.
But still, like others said, why make a SW game and let Disney get a say, when you can just use the big popular sci-fi setting you already have (Starcraft), and do whatever you think is best.
a) it wouldn’t really be a new IP, would it? 
b) I would not welcome it, just like I would not welcome Superman or the Justice League (except for meming, but not for actual inclusion).
c) It probably doesn’t matter; they wouldn’t include external IP stuff because of lisencing issues (a one-off game license is one thing; including a character in a game that uses the “perpetual game” model is quite another).
Now, if they wanted to go the other way and include Starcraft characters in Fortnite, that I might roll with

Actiblizzard isn’t very keen on new ventures at this point.
Just money grubbing with lazy expansions.
HotS might’ve got a battle pass before Hearthstone if it still had a playerbase that paid for things.
I don’t want Star Wars, but why go for Luke Skywalker when we can have the Death Star in the Neuxs? May as well go big.
I agree with most of what you say, but I think Blizzard is far less aggressive with their microtransaction models

I understood NEW IPs to mean something original. Starwars isn’t new. Will I welcome them to the nexus? No. Maybe if we fight INSIDE the Deathstar as a map. Heroes, no. Pizza the Hut skin, yes.
SC already has their own space war stuff. We don’t need Starwars.
