Lucio is broken

Ban him, pick him, just don’t let the enemy team have him. Mixing Fire at level 20 is bugged, so instead of the CD and mana cost being reduced by 30% of normal, it is set to 30% of normal. So he has it up all the time. Even though the self-heal was nerfed, it literally doesn’t matter if he can spam it non-stop in a team fight.

I played some SL tonight with some friends, and we ran an Uther/Lucio double support comp, not realizing just how broken it was.

Given how long it took Blizzard to fix the Falstad bugs, ride that DJ if you want, or ban the hell out of him, as if it gets to late game, what he can do is insane.

Oh, and he can High Five the DK, which is hilarious. It doesn’t heal it, though, unlike the Brightwing Blink Heal bug.

I saw you were doing SL tonight. I checked to see who you had been playing so far this season and saw Lucio. All I really know about you Hoku is you play mostly tanks so I was confused why you would be playing Lucio in stack. This is a rather funny way to find out why!

Thanks for the warning Hoku, adding it to my list of hero bans.

Man, the HotS wiki really stays on top of these things. It actually has the correct description for this talent.

Passive: Reduce the Mana cost and cooldown of High Five to 30%.

In the details it mentions:

Sets cooldown to 6s per Hero.

Which is accurate with what I see when I tested this in Try Mode.

In-game, the talent description says:

Passive: Reduce the Mana cost and cooldown of High Five by 30%.

This was supposed to reduce the cooldown per hero to 14 seconds.

Thanks for the info, but this don’t change anything to me, because I always tend to ban Lucio, at least as third ban. He was always the most annoying healer in the game, but he is also fun to play.

But we probably need another 4-5 month until he will be fixed. :frowning:

Heh, in SL, I always show Flex, and am willing to play any role. Although I prefer tanking or playing the off-lane, my Lucio is level 130+, so … yeah.

That group of friends features a Garrosh one-trick (500+ level Garrosh, yikes!), and we were running double support/hyper carry with Uther and Lucio.

Given that taking it requires sacrificing Sound Barrier and also being in melee range with a squishy high priority healer, even if this is a bug I would not class it as broken.

its easy to fix the lucio problem, just nerf chen

You forgot to add Unstoppable, armored, fast as lightning, and having a self-peel. Trust me, when you play Lucio, you want to be in melee. He is busted.

Anyone using a bug and caught gets banned instantly. It happened with the imperius tower bug so.

I wouldn’t call Lucio - a hypermobile hero - after 13 with Slip, who gains armor while wall-hugging “squishy”.

EDIT: But even, if you’re right, you have to consider Lucio is also capable doing damage like an assassine. So dueling a Lucio is a tough challenge.

I thought this was a “I hate Lucio” thread, then wondered, “Why would Hoku do that?” lol.

You seem to think that Lucio is easy to kill lol.

The Imperius bug was very specific though, and had to be setup. You needed a set of shift commands done in a small window. So you could not do it by accident.

For Lucio it’s passive, so the player may very well not know.

Sounds like a fun time! Good luck to you and your stack in SL whenever you jump back in

He is one of the lowest damage heroes in HotS… Literally. He only gets good hero damage because his siege damage is very bad and he spends the entire game pewing at heroes, possibly with some talents which also only work on heroes for mediocre damage. I ran the DPS calculations in an old topic, and not much has changed since then. Raynor, Tychus and any reliable ranged DPS obliterate him fast in 1v1 as all his dodging antics means nothing against damage he cannot evade.

Damage kills him very fast given his low health. Of course usually his high mobility makes him harder to kill, but fortunately the Lucio will be so busy going into melee range or the splash damage aimed at one of his allies by using his level 20 that is much less of a concern.

Imagine if he took sound barrier and just let his entire team face tank all your burst without a scratch while keeping his safe distance, now that would have been a serious threat.

You probably never saw a chad lucio.

You would need some lessons from Iksir, I guess.

Why would he needs siege damage, if he shines at all other areas? Great utility, good hero damage as healer?

He can’t evade, but he doesn’t need to, because he can’t get 100% damage while hugging walls due to permanent 20 armor and being very fast.

I watched a LOT of pro games with Lucio. And no one plays him like that.

Do you specifically pick Lucio against burst comps?

What? I thought that was the only way to play him.
Lucio is a chase assassin who can also support. :stuck_out_tongue:

And Lucio is really good.
Uther is also really good.
If you’re using both of them, you don’t even need a tank.

Even if he wasn’t bugged he should still be a must ban first pick, cause instead of nerfing him they buffed lmao.

On the contrary we have no accurate data, if Lucio is really op and needs nerfs or not (except this bug). Blizzard buffed bad talents and that’s a good sign, though. Maybe for Blizzard Lucio isn’t op, but there are other heroes that needs more buffs to be more equal to him. Remember what happend to other popular picks after multiple nerfs… cough Genji cough

He was already op before. Pretty much first ban first pick in CCL as well. The nerfs literally change nothing tbh and they even buffed non picked talents. He is just even better overall.

Oh, and they hyper buffed boombox which was already amazing lmao.
