Lost 2-25 with 3 players <100 account level

The three players were new, not rerolls. It was painfully obvious. The other team were all >500 account level.

Match Making still sucks. It doesn’t seem to be a priority for Blizzard to fix it.

Welp, tuff luck on this part.

Blizz want new players to play with experienced players so they feel like they are good and will give blizz money, as far at I can tell.

I’m totally fine with playing against new players, just not with them. I’m sick of that shiit.

The game needs an huge influx of new and retained players to even have a chance of the matchmaker improving.

Now is Blizz planning to make this happen by releasing Mei for the legions of her passionate and closet fans alike? Nope, keep churning out dem generic Warcraft heroes that don’t bring much to the table other than a quick buck!

You think that’s bad? I had a first game EVER Jaina on my team a few weeks ago. I reported her during the game, because she wasn’t communicating with the team, wasn’t responding to pings, nor doing anything other than nonstop solo pushing a single lane until it killed her. Which it did, so many times I assumed she was intentionally feeding.

I had no idea it was actually her first game ever, because I wasn’t looking at player levels during the game loading screen. The only reason I found out it was her very first game, was because I was so baffled by this player’s gameplay, that I inspected their profile after game. Now I regret reporting her, and I feel bad for her, because she will likely rack up many reports over time if matchmaking keeps putting players like her up against master MMR quickmatch players. They really need to sort out matchmaking, because she never should have been put into that game in the first place.

I find this as a total disrespect to their loyal players. It is also unfair for the new ones, btw.

Don’t feel bad. Blizzard has to fix their game. Has nothing to do with you.

At some point, maybe in this century Blizzard will finally figure out that maybe… just maybe those players need to wait longer for players more like them. Instead of filling in a match blank spot with some incredibly inappropriate random player with 1/3 the MMR of everyone else, they will make higher skilled players wait longer too. In fact we want to.

I also suggest that they finally just add a teaching game mode where players volunteer to play with the mega f-ton of players who don’t know how to play even after a few hundred games. Perhaps add rewards here of some sort. Doesn’t have to be big (maybe not needed, plenty of people willing to help). Then turn off the huge disparity allowance that is currently in place for QM/UR entirely. No more rainbow matches. Nothing behind 200-300 difference. No major experience disparities either (if we choose). IDC for smurfs.

What about this?

These boosted door knobs can’t ever fall. 184 games with pathetic win rate and it’s still diamond -.- (same player in s1 and s3)

That’s a serious issue also… there are boosted players everywhere. but in diamond/master its just a crime. The game is a mess. You know it, we know it. You know Blizzard has to come out with something…a fix, or at least an acknowledgement. _Anything _ but to do so would make the game worse in their eyes. So here we are.

Sad to say this but don’t expect any improvements soon or anything satisfying out of any talks about the game during Blizzcon. Notice how its scheduled as the last one too.

More of the usual game… So my rules: play more on an alt. Dont play ranked… try to keep reminding myself the game is broken and even moreso than before. Some of us thought game was just fine before… I never did… I still don’t. Not sure I ever will. Kinda puts things in perspective sometimes… the rest of the time I just go play other games.

Some #s for you:

You’re way too deep in the conspiracy hole, dude.

I’m gonna try to find a statistical significance of exp advantage in matches. Once I figure out how, that is. already found where to get replay files:
hotsapi .net/docs
and here is a thing that I could use for extracting the account levels:
github .com/Blizzard/heroprotocol
I just put a space before the dot so it would let me post.
but im a Python noob still and haven’t really figured out how to use that yet. but it’s totally doable. lets settle this. I have always thought that team exp advantage will give them above 50% chance to win. Everybody always argues that exp and skill is not the exact same thing, like I ever claimed that. All i’m saying is that most experienced players are better than most inexperienced players. Unfortunately account level is the only thing you can extract from replays and not games played, which would be much more accurate for telling experience.

I’m not trying to prove that a good matchmaker should consider player experience. It would make a bad matchmaker more reliable, giving enjoyable matches more often. Ideally only the skill rating should be used. If exp advantage does have high win rate, if nothing else, it would prove that players that are matched together have very different skills.

Account level =/= skill level.
They could easily be Grandmaster smurfs.
Orrr could just be quickmatch in which case /shrug

Fixing the smurfs would be as simple as demanding some sort of confirmation like a phone number when you create a hots or hearthstone acc and make people that have a cd-key on other(not f2p) blizz games skip it

In other words, just make sure that you cant just spawn another acc like you can create a spam bot, make each person only have 1 free acc and if he wants another, he needs to fork some money

Buuuut… such problem is rampart on f2p games, they have in-build in their model the expectance that tons of fake accs will pop and they always are counting with the $ a small portion of these fake accs spend. Its very much an intentional problem in this kind of game(LoL took a very daring step, but its one of the bigger names so they have some room for risk)

Idk them… maybe make hots not f2p?

Matchmaking doesn’t make money.

New heroes and gem-only skins make money.
