Lootbox system in this game is a gacha mechanic

It took a while before they started replacing generic in-game art for something new and unique. Most of the assets were taken directly from sc2’s map editor.

I sure never noticed. What in-game art?

Icons, HUD, minimap. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you didn’t miss out on much. You can’t just jump into the over-saturated market and hope to find players with what looked more like a proof of concept than a full fledged release. Most if not all of the assets were replaced over the years and the game has also received several face lifts as a whole.

Hots has come a long way since launch day but it missed its critical mark.

Maybe for casual players, but in a long run you will get anything for free and the game don’t give money to the company in return for it cost.

I once bought a chest for gold to say I had done, but otherwise I’ve only ever put money on like three hero packs or so, and a handful of boosts.

I don’t know why you’d pay for gachapon. I wouldn’t recommend it, at any rate.

I mean, HotS literally just reused many or most of the SC2 icons for HotS (like that Protective Shield one for heroes like Uther before they removed generic talents) though they run on the same game engine.

I do still prefer the SC2 interfaces (from all eras), they look more modern and “professional” than the HotS ones (first HotS menus looked very sketchy and crude).

Thats a very bold statement, my dear “know it all”. Would you care to show me from where did you get that information? I would like to see how this game does not turn profit for the indie corporation.

Well I have no evidence, but it’s just my personal experience that thanks to the Lootbox system you don’t have to spent a cent to the game, because everything is obtainable for ingame currency.

I will assume you have never played any other microtransactions/mobile game in your life other than hots. Its the same, or less grindy with other games.

Except Hearthstone and Hots no, but HS is different since it’s a card game.

Honestly with how this discussion is going.

  1. apparently its a scam for using a currency you cannot even obtain by… Paying money
  2. cannot buy heroes with gems… When you can actually
  3. comparing completely irrelevant things

If this doesn’t get that obvious OP feels like either trolling or has no idea about the game, yet.

I personally dont think its different. Its the exact same for me. In real card games you would trade/sell those cards of yours. In games like HS, you CANT do that! Its all intentionally forged this way.

The only game which does that, is CS GO. And that is not even a card game!

Sorry bro but I think you are posting on the wrong forums.

Here:

Even if you get dublicates, you get shards of them, you can buy other items/cosmetic stuff all for free, so i dont get his post.

And gold you get for free too, that you can buy heroes for or convert it to more shards. So comparing this game to mobile games were you use real life money to buy more stuff. Mobile games only has a fraction of its game for free. The rest of it you need to unlock with money like buying stuff from the store.

Hots has nothing of that unless you want to spend money on gems that are mostly used to by bundles or exp boost.

OP can just go and make his thread in HS forum then he will get swarmed by people who would agree with him.

Activision has no choice, but to make heroes available to players. Their competitor “League of Legends” is currently not only DEMOLISHING that market, but also offering easier access to new heroes. I am pretty sure I said it in earlier messages somewhere in this thread. But I dont think anyone reads anything I say, or comprehends it at all.

Then pls enlighten us all what makes loot boxes a scam. Im sure you have all the answers to us.

Or is it just because you like to hear your own voice in this thread and ignores what others says ehh.

I’m don’t know much about America Frog, but here in EU we actually have some laws that actively work to prevent immoral and shady business practices, such as planned obsolescence in the technology world. Doesn’t matter how high something in the store is priced if the buyer is properly informed on exactly what he is getting for his money.

Just because you dont know what to do with the information I provide you, does not mean my information is irrelevant. A few people already found my information useful.

I could answer your question, but I wont even bother! I am convinced that your intentions are not good after all. Now feel free to log into your other 69 accounts to mark my messages as “troll posts”.

Also when a duplicate is unboxed, you get only a portion of the item’s value in shards. This seems alright if you choose to spend real money on it? You might get lucky once in a while to receive greater value, but I’m not as so sure that a for-profit company wouldn’t have a system in place with that in mind either.

I bought 2 bundles over the past 5+ years to support the game. $60, the average price of a AAA game. I have never felt the need to purchase loot boxes. I have every single hero and I’ve earned enough gold and gems through playing the game to acquire whatever cosmetics I’ve ever wanted.

Anyone who thinks they need to buy loot chests in this game has bigger problems then being “addicted” to loot chests.
