All I get are sprays and other trash I Cant even use… WOW blizzard I paid for a stimpack, and after over 100 levels worth of loot chests I have barely got anything. no Heros . all garbage skins. no mounts… nothing… I am very disappointed in how crappy the loot is in… loot chests. will never spend money to play your game again because IT GIVES ME NOTHING. how pointless and terrible. VERY disappointed with your service. there is absolutely no reason to spend money on your game.

I just opened my billionth Rustbolt Resistance paragon chest, and still are refused both my rank 4 essence and the remaining blueprint I need.

If there are specific heroes you want and you do not have the time to grind out gold or shards, spend the money on gems and buy them directly, rather than relying on RNG. To me, loot chests are just a little bonus for playing the game, and gold is how I pay for things I want.

While I disagree with most of what the OP said, I do think that the lootboxes are a little slanted against getting heroes for some reason.
I made a new acct just for the event so I could spam brawl games and try to get as many chests as possible, and wowee even with 10-15 chests a day I haven’t gotten a single hero in a week+ of playing.

Bruh. i opened tons of loot chests and wasted all of my gold rerolling to get skins and heroes. it’s RNG nothing guaranteed in the loot chest you just need luck and gold to reroll if you get nothing. can say the same about any game with things like loot chests in them. it’s all Gambling and you never know if you’ll win anything by gambling.

Don’t know why you’re surprised pikachu-ing over this. If you want your ““good”” items, you should’ve bought them directly. Lootboxes are for grinding shards or when you’re not too picky about what you get.
It is RNG. I have played my main account (not this one, it’s just for forums) and my deceased partners account. I was here from launch and played, my partner was too but didn’t play much at all.
I got one Raccoon mount this season on my account which I played the majority of games on. My partners accounts got two variations of the Showstopper Whitmemane Skin, 1 Raccon mount, all those sidecare mounts and a Hammer skin!
You can always pay some with gems if you are so salty about loot chest. Plz do it!
How about using all those shards to buy something you actually want?

Exactly. I think the worst possible value in this game is spending any kind of currency (be it gold or gems) on loot chests.
Just take them as an extra. If you want something and have money don’t buy chests, just buy the item directly. Your odds of randomly getting the exact epics or legendaries you want from even a hundred chests is astronomically low.

I can relate with the OP. When Mechastorm was being generous with it’s lootboxes I was able to earn 100+ boxes, and the same thing happened. Thing is, I don’t own many items in this game. I probably only own half the heroes. Often I spent gold for rerolls because of the unreal amounts of dupes. I even saw some items pop up 3 times in a row from rerolls or just straight up opening boxes.
The return rate on currency is like 25% and it doesn’t feel good.
Yeah, it’s RNG.
Is the way you should think of these. SADLY, lootboxes are shoved into your face. BUY STIMPACKS! We all know hero levels mean nothing. The main reason to buy the stimpacks was to get lootboxes quicker. I just wait for when boxes are awarded in abundance. Or buy the ONE thing I want.

You got a ton of extra gold and (at least) some shards (if not more) you wouldn’t get without that *Boost you bought.
But if you had specific cosmetics in mind… you should’ve bought those and not Boosts.
Boosts are for gold and lvl increase.
Gold are for Heroes, Lootchests, Rerolls, Shards, Mastery Rings, gold-only mounts and announcers.
Lootchests for goldsink and RNG.
Gems are for aimed purchases.
Shards for getting something even when you didn’t and the craft to the desired exact cosmetics.

Now to the second issue ,
You used a lottery based system , didnt got anything and now complaining about it ?
Loot boxes are like lottery / gambling . you cannot spend money in it and EVER be taken seriously when you dont get what you want lol ?
there would be one simple fix to this…
make it like it is in OW. No dupes until you have everything of that rarity category. No more dupe sprays until you have them all. No more dupe avatars until you have them all. No more…well, you get it.
I found myself wishing for that mechanic a lot, same as I would have wished for the reroll system to find its way into OW back when I still played that game.
the thing is. heroes and skins / mounts drop rate is lower than sprays / portraits and banners / voicelines. so you mostly get these rather than heroes and skins etc. which is why gold is available to either reroll and try again or accept what you got. that’s gambling
I bet I’ve had over 50 heroes from loot boxes, and thats a conservative figure. Fair enough, most of the have been duplicates but I still think I’ve had about 20 that I didn’t have.
When I took a break from the game before the loot boxes were introduced, I think I was about a level 400 or 500. So when I returned I had a load of boxes to open, got loads of stuff including many of the heroes that had been released in my break. I remember I got Cain in a loot box the same day he was released.
I own all the heroes now (except for ChoGall), so any heroes I get are just shards. But its better than nothing, it gets me the odd skin or mount that I really want and allows me to stack gold.
I’ve enough gold to buy the next 4 heroes at full, or 6 at the reduced price. I just see the loot boxes as a bit of fun after levelling, sometimes you cool stuff, other times (most of the time) I’ll get 4 duplicates. I never paid real money for loot boxes and never will.
I buy the odd stimpack to support the game, but other than that, I personally have done very well from loot boxes.
