Looking for drafting advice

So you were drafting and unsure who to pick?
This thread is dedicated to offer you advice and judge your life decisions :face_with_monocle:

(Do mention bans + picks)
And for feedback givers. The devil is in the detail

After our round, Enemy first picks Lt. Morales and Tyrael. They have banned Falstad and Zeratul.

I already know where they are going with this draft, I wasn’t born yesterday.

How should we proceed? What do we pick or ban to stop or counter the cheese?

Our team was just clueless all around and picked random stuff and banned random heroes. We lost since only me and 1 other person was familiar with medivac backdooring.

Pick greymane/azmodan ===> outrace them

of course… We were hell bent on just defending them but that is probably the wrong play :frowning:

When can you draft Murky?

He has a number of counters, and most of his strength comes from punishing bad players. They need to ignore him early game, and underestimate his tankiness and damage late game. In the Draft though, you don’t know if your opponent is bad.

His best maps need to be large enough, with sufficient non-elite camps for him to do Murky stuff.

I guess he’s a solid double soaker as well.

When is there not a better drafting choice to do the same jobs though?

I’ve played him 150 times in QM, 0 times in Draft.

first pick morales and tyrael? then they’ll most likely pick heroes with summon skills like nazeebo azmodan zagara etc…

If someone in draft decides they’re going to throw because of the hero you picked, and they’ve said they won’t draft dodge because they want you to suffer, how do you keep your temper under control?
Because I don’t think I can.

I usually try to fill. I usually try to draft what I think will be good.
I can’t please everyone else. I’m not sure what to do.

Someone made a thread about defending medivac rushes a while ago:

tldr: Pick a double soaker (Murky, Xul, TLV, Malthael with pale horse) and a good defender (Ragnaros, Junkrat for mine, Brightwing with emerald wind). Having bribe can help pressure lanes too.

I once did this. The enemy had guldan. One good haunt won the match.
Furthermore I like sylv because wailing arrow vs them. And as a tank blaze because he can both reduce dmg at 4 / 13 and reduce his stun timer at 16

Couple of heroes to avoid like greymane.
But just make sure your 4 man team have some nice synergy. Then draft murky on big maps. It requires some nerves I dont have :stuck_out_tongue:
