List of strong builds [2.53]

Here are the strongest builds since their major last update, from heroesprofile in dia+, hero lvl 10+, SL. The requirements are:

  • Having at least 100 games played on a pre lvl 13 build.

  • A clear advantage over others.

  • 5% WR over the average hero at any point during the game.

Side notes:

  • Don’t be shocked if you see “meme builds”. Lots of them got buffed and you wouldn’t even know the repercussion of it. e.g. Icefury Wand(W Jaina), Infernus(Q DW), Deadly Calm(R Garrosh), Curse of Exhaustion (W Gul’dan).

  • Most of these builds show up as the best ones because of how easy they get value. e.g. lots of AA, E build Maiev, E build Rag, damage talents. Hard builds aren’t there for a reason, the lack of consistency. I could change the title to being “easiest builds” instead, but it’s half a clickbait, if I’m being humble.

  • Early builds show up more often because winning pre lvl 10 determines the outcome of the game by a lot. The first team to 10 wins twice as much.

Over the average hero, or the average hero in the same role? I would suggest any of the variations of beetle build Anub, as he is currently crushing the tanks in Diamond+, and beetles have figured into that surge in success. It is hard to pin down a specific beetle build, as 4 and 16 can go with a couple of different talent choices.

5% over the 53% win rate in Dia+, that includes every heroes.
Anub’arak was one of the hero that I initially added, but removed him because his W build is almost as strong, if not at bit better since v 2.52.1. It’s just less popular.

His W build has always been viable against ability heavy teams, but the change to beetles brought him back to the meta. I thought that is what you meant by the opening sentence, implying that a build that has changed recently is what made a big difference to a hero. I would also argue that beetle build is much easier to play than W build (although I do use both, depending on comps).

Arthas is also missing

Fan as often regarded Q build as extremely good for a while now.

Monstrosity, Hinterland blast, Rain of Destruction, Mind Control? I think we’re well past the meme territory at this point.

He doesn’t even take this build anymore.
He goes [T2321221,zuljin]

Evolve Monstrosity: 6% WR higher, 4048 games played.
Rain of Destruction: 3% WR higher, 1421 games played.
Hinterland Blast: 1% WR lower, 776 games played. Full AA with it is the best.

Are those all low pick rate builds?

Mind control is now used in blowup comps. For example with Taunt Varian. ONe advantage is that it doesn’t matter which ability connects first. You either engage with mind control, or follow up with it.

(Plus the fact that we’re no longer in a world where MC was just a self stun, trading one active hero for another)

Around half of them for the ult choice, so, no.

Zuljins 2nd talent on level 1 is his worse option. Idk why Fan and others are going it… it encourages you to be half health or lower and that’s terrible. His whole kit is a mess in the first place but oh well. Blizzard wants to make wacky kits

Because of dings.
He gets 250 stacks a game.
It’s the same effect as Sylvanas W stacks.
You play recklessly and you get rewarded for it. It’s WR is fine right now. It was fine before, but only 10% pop.

To be honest here, I’m skeptical for lots of these builds since some are low pick rate. But, I don’t think it hurts to try them out.
The one I’ve been loving so far is the bruiser Garrosh, played by RussDT (#1 tank in NA) at the time. Although, he picked Body Check.

I’ll have to try the W Sonya.

I keep this page up on my second screen and try out every of these builds when I play ARAM. It’s been working out so far.

Well well, what do you know, MC really seems to be an actual choice now.

Well he says that build is very strong nonetheless.

I’ll give 1-2 months of datas before adding the best build for him. He seems much better than before, I think.

Do you also take the % of popularity in consideration?
If a talent has a 70% pickrate and the other has 20% pickrate the 3rd has 10% pickrate but the talent with the 10% pickrate is the highest in WR it doesnt say a lot

Wow so Decimator Garrosh is better than the Taunt one?

Bruiser Garrosh is a sight to be seen in high league IIRC, decimate is also seen commonly more picked while also effective in helping doing the job he was designed for.

No because this is just a random number without much context
There are 92% of the people who pick challenge at master because it can do more.

If 9% of the people take it and have a 55% winrate
51% of the people taking challenge have a 51% winrate it means there are far many players who take this ult and the winrate accross the players are more spread out.

Having lvl 10+ says nothing. Im a terrible Illidan and im lvl 14
If you believe this stat without context, just purely based on the 8% who performed better. The joke is on you
