What is your favorite hero to play as whose character you absolutely hate?
Imperius is a ton of fun to play, but holy hell (Heavens?) he is such a whiny little . He has a small handful of clever, funny, or inspiring spawn-in interactions, but most of them are complaining about having to fight with lowly mortals or talking down to his allies.
I actually find myself cringing a bit whenever I hear ones like this:
At least it helps me enjoy the interactions where someone shows him up more, like Johannaâs side of her interaction with him.
Orphea sounds like a pompous, entitled B- even though her reason (upbringing and experiences) may have caused her to be that way. Her British or whatever accent doesnât help her cause of being fancy-seeming
Diablo and Deathwing talk too much, they made them too cartoony and kiddy.
I understand itâs because the game is supposed to have a humorous side to it, like itâs this big Blizzard theme park (blizzneyland), but it breaks the illusion of their ominousness.
Depends what deathwing does in lore. I have no knowledge of him. If heâs just a big scary dragon that never talked, I wouldnât have minded if he just had different roars and cries (dying, respawning, getting hurt). Maybe a few growling lines like: âdeath and destruction follow my wake.â
âI will be the end of allâ
âMy team? You canât even beat meâ
âTrying to bind my movements? Foolish mortalâ
" Puny thing, out of my way"
âYour death is my pleasureâ
What he has now is fine like he says âpuny mortals.â The rest of his lines are arrogant but do not really make him seem powerful. It seems more entitled than powerful. â> âYou will learn to show respect.â
Stukov is nice to play and his character, but holy Zergs, they made him anime-style. (not the skins, which is good).
Mei has good gameplay, but for me she is too cute. Too much.
Qhira is good to play, but she lacks lore and motivation.
Though i wonder why there is no Mira Han hero, her character is cool.
r/entitledparents have gained their best defender.
I understand about some of these heroes interactions that could find them. recently when I play as Yrel which didnât see any Interactions which Included Mei.
The point of threatening things or people is they donât have to threaten. People fear them by default because of their actions and reputation. Not words.
The Diablo in D1 or D2 didnât talk at all, unless you got to his lair and he said a few words in ancient demonic language (which played backwards was funny though).
They only made the prime or lesser evils talk trash during Diablo 3, to the point characters like Azmodan became a joke (he was constantly announcing you his plans).
I donât have such hero.
To play hero and enjoy hero, I need to like his character and playstyle in same time. If I donât like something from those - I donât play hero.
Anduin. He is much better in HotS, but in WoW he always struck me as a self-centered little brat, who needed a kick in the pants to grow up. His character decisions in Mists of Pandaria would have made me ground him for a year if I were his parent. As soon as Blizzard killed off Varian and installed Anduin as the King in Stormwind, my guild made it a point to go there and murder him.
Zagara. She doesnât have a reason to exist in Heart of the Swarm. Or at least I think her being a âproperâ antagonist would have been far better.
She is just boring.
On the topic of Zerg Queens⊠real Zerg Queens fly!
(Yes, I know, she is technically a Broodmother, not a Queen.)
I disagree with this sentiment. He doesnât need to brag about how powerful he is. He already knows that, and he doesnât care enough about you to tell you.
I freaking love Deathwingâs voice acting in HotS. He just calmly and collectedly explains how the world is going to end by his hands and thereâs nothing you can do to stop it. He says it like itâs a simple matter of fact, because to him it is. Itâs very different from his WoW voice, which was a lot more âdoomsday shouty kill-you-guy!â, and I actually really prefer this.
Mephisto and Baal both talk in Diablo II, in cinematics. Baal is hilarious.
I agree with the first line, but not the second. I just donât find anyone annoying.
Exactly. The only âvillainâ heroâs voicelines I enjoy more in HotS is Mephistoâs, mostly because he always seems to take such pleasure in causing torment. It isnât shouty or braggy, just delighted.
