Days ago I purchased Nova and setting up for her gameplay, even Li-Ming as now being popular heroes in the game, I sense about her build could we need them, both Li-Ming & Nova has same voice actor, if answers could need that Li-Ming versus Nova would win? please answers here!
Nova, obviously. Liming stands almost 0 chance if Nova is good.

For me that Li-Ming being the best but since I got her Templar skin I having Archon: Pure Power for level 20 talent that somewhat being blue color in her Archon form (generally her Archon form being purple-pink color for any skins & her Lunar skin has red-gold color being seasonal).
A Nova, that knows what to do can easily beat a Li Ming.
Usually I go Precision Strike for the burst damage, but in a 1 v 1 scenario against Li Ming, Tripple Trap can be devastating - nowhere for Ming to run (if she attempts). Nova just needs to wait out Wave of Force to be used, or until Ming is far enough to be unable to use it as an interruption.
Otherwise, when we don’t count the ultimate’s mind games, Nova still has an advantage, as she can spawn a decoy to block globes (and some missles). And her damage is sufficient to kill Ming fast enough.

As Nova also being popular I see that some of her talents being compared to Valeera just the ticket. though for example: Nova can easily killed Whitemane if her Heroic ability have pick up.
Force Armor can make her very hard to kill, Aether Walker can allow her to bait out snipes or suddenly turn on the aggression.
At 4, in a 1v1 situation, Charged Blast is the obvious choice, especially with Nova clones interfering with Orb damage.
Personally I love Seeker, and it’d be trouble for the slow moving and squishy Nova.
Wave of Force, naturally.
Illusionist can work, but I prefer Cannoneer.
Fireflies, Mirrorball, Iron Skin all have applications. Mirror Ball will make one-shotting Nova so much easier though.
With Nova, probably just go W build.
Ionic Force Field is under rated, and will probably help greatly in a 1v1.
I think with these, Li-Ming can easily take it.
But Nova can easily take it also.
It’s a battle of glass cannons, it’s going to come down to which is played better.
In a 1v1 scenario, where Nova took Tripple Tap, there’s never a reason to use Wave of Force except to cancel Tripple Tap, or if it is going to deal the killing blow.
The only way you’re using TT is by taking advantage of it’s massive range.

This Li-Ming’s build can easily win against Nova [T1131143,li-ming].
You get Wave of Force instead if she takes Triple Tap.
Edit: After theorycrafting more with Nova in Try Mode, I’m not sure anymore who could win. Nova’s trait talents at 13 and 20 give her perma 25 armor and One in the Chamber is very strong against Li-Ming.

Isn’t Nova built to handle heroes like Li ming? I’m genuinely surprised there’s a build that can counter her.
She’s heavily underpicked for good reason I assume but if there’s a ton of squishy backlane, I would think she’s viable enough.
E build Ming is good dueler. Diamond Skin is must-pick.
But its really hard to hit Calamity.
On a pure 1v1 I think it’s a pretty even contest, build dependent ofc.

Well, if you ask me, I don’t know.
Nova is designed to counter heroes like Li Ming.
Li Ming has the teleport build to counter Nova.
Li Ming is the better hero overall. Nova can literally only do one thing, and has a million counters.

Nova would win it. She can block half the spells with her clone. Only way Ming would win that is if Nova was dumb enough to take self root at 10.
Not in my experience. A good Ming can beat a bad Nova, but a good Nova beats a good Ming. Only E build Ming, with E talent on 16 stands a chance.
Nonsense. PS is useless against Ming - she can easily dodge it with her E, while TT is a death sentence, if she decides to flee.

If she has 4 stacks of Force Armor and Diamond Skin, there wont be much spell damage going to be happening against Ming. Not even with Triple Tap. Plus the talent that refreshes Teleport cooldown instantly if she loses 20% of her health.
I just can’t see how a competent Ming can lose this match up. She could even spam Calamity on the Nova repeatedly without firing a single orb or missile and still win the trade, as Nova has no way to escape the damage.
If the Nova decides to fight back vs Diamond Skin and full stacks of Force Armor she wont even make a dent in her HP pool (and if she does, her DS will refresh instantly)

Also I thought I mentioned it in my original comment, but Ionic Force Field isn’t a bad choice for Nova in this case.

It’s a theoretical scenario so it’s very possible for her to hit 4 missiles on her.
And as with all theorycrafting, there is still the issue of player skill: The matchup will be won by the same player over & over if they are a Master and the other player is a Silver for example.
Regardless of them picking Nova or Ming.
But these are fun to think about nonetheless.

How? You have no mobility to escape her if she decides to do that. Or you can stand still and attack her and refresh her teleport & Diamond Skin over and over.
I agree though that Ionic Force Field is a must in this matchup if she is to have any chance of survival.
That’s what good Mings pick if they know they need to ne able to 1v1 Nova.
