Lana is now a Senior Animator at Riot no

I didn’t see post here about that, so…

When Lana leaves Hots and goes for work to LoL/Riot:

I’m happy that Lana has a place to work in, but I’m sad she went to work in game, what HotS had to beat. It’s not her fault.

Activision or Blizzard or whatever it is lost her.

Glad to see she’s moving on up with her work. Her animation talent is amazing <3

Apparently she’s senior animator for a whole new none announced game as I heard.

Congrats to Lana, if her work in HOTS is an example, she deserves a good opportunity.

truth is though that beyond the blizzard bubble everyone else sees LoL as the game to be in for MOBA. just saying.

not that i like LoL its just one of those realities that HotS has always been mainly for existing blizzard fans.

Oh what, it wasnt a rage job quit after people were unhappy with another IP hero?

You mean she had a job lined up and just stayed until her final major project was done like a normal person?

The people on the forums who actually thought she raged quit because Qhira had a 50/50 like/dislike ratio on youtube should realize how silly they are and how little they understand the real world.

Wait, wait, wait… People who work for a living are normal people?
They’re not all drinking all the kool aid about how where they work is the besterest place to be ever!?

Amazing how Riot keeps hiring new people meanwhile Blizzard keeps don’t hiring new people (For HotS).

Im glad she found a new place to work. From my pov, i can understand why she went working to Riot. LoL only has OC character in it, so whatever they come up with next, noone will be upset…like in Hots, where you design a hero and upset 4/5 of the players

More importantly. She’s free to design whatever she wants. No restrictions. Being an artist and having your creativity stifled is really hard. Being able to only reproduce something that already exists isn’t as exciting or motivating.

Or maybe they’re just paying her more.

In fact they laid a bunch of people off despite having their most successful fiscal year ever in 2018, because that makes sense

And according to the forums, only previous Blizzard employees were allowed to create new stuff. Current employees are committing sacrilege when doing so.

I heard bad things about Riot and sexism in the office, hopefully her senior position protects her from what a junior might suffer through.

Imagine being so angry about a discussion you hold on to it for a week to bring it up again in a different thread.

Disregard I am idiot.

There are opportunities to create new characters, etc. at Blizzard. HoTS was specifically marketed as a MOBA where Blizzard IPs are meshed together in a brawler though.

It’s easy to see why people would be annoyed that someone completely new not even flushed out in the Nexus lore just appeared in HoTS.

I don’t think animators (even a “senior” one) can just design “whatever they want” at Riot…
I mean, they do get a certain level of self-expresion, i imagine, but I also imagine they have to, I don’t know, animate the characters that they were assigned?

Even if character design and animation are done by the same people, I think a big part of it is probably dictated by game design.

Well, I’m just speculating. Either way, I too hope she does well over there.
