I’ve been playing Jaina recently and keep thinking about her kit.
She has quite long cd’s and for her to dish out damage, she needs to land combos. In group fights, sometimes she needs to wait for that nice combo wombo situation or just pop out whatever cds remain for that little bit of damage.
Would you trade lower cd’s for lower damage and possibly lower the chill slow debuff? Like how tracer can now survive in fights longer but the trade off is lower damage.
She has strong burst dmg. After icyveins she can delete a ETC
Still good and pretty reliable.
Isn’t the whole point of a burst mage being holding on the abilities to use the burst at the right moment?
We already have more sustain heroes like AAs ranged or guldan.
I would trade even more dmg for far less survivability.
First off, what long CDs? It depends entirely on how you play her. Jaina has numerous CDR options. Literally the only ability which has no CDR is Water Elemental. Anything else has talents to reduce its length + Icy Veins.
Also long cooldowns compared to who? I saw way more complaints about Jaina’s mana tension and even that usually can be summed up as “git gud”.
Ring of Frost + Icy Veins can delete whole team.

Unless Jaina is op (slightly possible), we shouldn’t really touch her imo.
And your idea removes uniqueness. We have cd heavy and spammy Heroes assassins. Don’t make everyone spammy. If you dislike having high cds, play the others.
I think this is because Jaina is the standard basic template of a mage.
Basic template of a mage is a glasscannon to me. Quest is a joke, Ice Block can be as well baseline. Roots, slows, armor, shields. Eek…
The only true mage in HOTS is Guldan.
Jaina is in a very healthy spot, reliable and without toxic mechanics like resets. Should certainly not be touched.
jaina is pretty good. recently moved in to a new place, and she got a raise in her job teaching magic in dalaran to kids. she is happy you asked.
jana is - and always was - one of the most solide and viable picks. i love this girl (and she has one of the best skins

She actually was in a rather tough spot pre-rework. The one which introduced baseline iceblock also added some wonderful synergy to her kit and catapulted her position from relative low tier mage into the ice queen of damage.
It’s one of the reworks I have yet to hear anyone complaining about.
I dont think Jaina was ever a low tier mage. Would rather call her one of the more consistent mage thourough the history of HOTS. That Ice Block was just omegabuff.
He’s the only true Warlock. 
Maybe she could use a cd reduction talent in one of her tiers but I mean she’s pretty balanced overall. She’s easy to learn but a bit more difficult to get really really good at.
Jaina literally has CD reduction up the wazoo. Ice Lance for Q, Ice Floes for E, Icefury Wand for W. All of them compete with each other at level 7, though. In addition she has Icy Veins basically reduces all basic ability cooldowns to a quarter so you can immediately recast your abilities and turn Q into a machinegun. Even Ring of Frost has a CDR at level 20. The only ability which doesn’t receive CDR is her Water Elemental.
So what kind of CDR she needs, exactly?
They’re all on level 7 though, meaning you’d only get cd reductions on 1 ability. Also, if there are bursty high damage heroes on the enemy team you might not be able to take Icy Veins. Ice Barrier would be a little better in that situation because of the shield. Taking a second look at her talents I didn’t notice how much cd reductions she already had, but I mean, 10 and 15 second cool downs can be pretty long.
I’m not saying she needs them, and it would make sense to tone down her damage if she gets more, but its just a thought.

On release she was. Then they made her trait hit structures and gave her a few % increase in damage and ahe went from trash to queen bee.
Jaina is not a burst mage, she is a control mage.
