No, but seriously, it’s been like four years since I played. I decided to come back after Starcraft had a croak for a day. I can say… not much has changed.
People are still fighting pointlessly in the middle. People are still rushing into the objectives when they’re undermanned (I had a good comeback game because people did this). People are still insisting on grabbing boss when you have curse.
It was very nostalgic, and I had a good game.
What’s changed in four years?
Samuro is easier to play, and borderline insufferable, especially in QM.
As someone whose monkey brain can’t play Samuro no matter how easy they make him…
Awwww, I see Hotslogs is gone too.
Heroes Profile has replaced HotS Logs, if you are looking for current stats.
Looking at Samuro with a 57% win rate. Oof.
We got Mei and Hogger in 2020 as our last Heroes.
Some collectables were readded to the Shop.
We still got a few patches, not many, not big ones, so you can read them easily.
All the same Aram(/Brawl) was readded.
Other than these, the game is Leoric: “I am already dead. So when I am killed, what am I then? More dead? Deader? …Alive?”
That just warrants noticing that the person to welcome back is a zombie.
Since it’s been four years, you may have also missed the Tassadar rework. It’s divisive, mostly due to the aggressive changes. Valla also received a slight update at some point, most notably affecting the Q build. (Spare me from telling it was well before, time is flying!)

About 4 years ago almost every hero briefly had unstoppable baseline with Gladiator’s medallion and even more briefly Nexus experienced weather anomalies but apparently the snow caused some people’s toastertops to overheat.
I was here for Mei and Hogger.
I was not here for the collectibles being added in.
I’m very glad I missed this so called Gladiator’s medalion, though.
If you were here for Mei and Hogger, you were here for Gladiator’s Medallion. Medallion was added in the patch between Mei and Hogger.
Maybe it was so horrible and forgettable that I threw it out of my mind.
