Are they still banning people no reason (afk/non-participation)?
Is it safe to play now? Will I unjustly be banned for playing Illidan or Nova or TLV?

People will still report for the stupidest reasons.
Also depends on which game mode you play them.

Just wait until youâre on a forced loss streak and every other game has an AFK/leaver.

If youâre waiting until they limit the number of reports players can dish out in a day you will wait for a long time.
HGC was left on life support. They hosted the last matches on basic streams with no commentators or studio. And thatâs their crown jewel, HotS Esports. They canât even pay moderators anymore, so the chat was restricted to emojis only.
How much do you think they care about the average playerâs experience in comparison?

yes, its kind of a gamble there. in draft you can tell initially if ppl are resistant to your pick usually because someone will say something. which can lead to problems later unfortunately.
if no one says anything its still not âin the clearâ so to speak. because then you move on to the game. if you start losing then ppl are going to point their fingers at obvious avenues of why they think they are losing. its not their fault its nova⌠or murky⌠or aba. when the person doing this could have 10 deaths on them and is the obvious culprit for feeding. that wont matter though because its the bad hero.
typically i will listen to what ppl ask for in draft. i play a lot of things and it doesnt really matter to me most times. however, there are some times i look at what ppl want me to pick and think âscrew youâ. then pick what i was going to pick. those times can make ppl very angry right from the start and i have seen the draft messages like going âggâ and such because they felt my pick was the end of the world. really though i know what i was doing and we win. if i had picked what they asked it really would have been a loss.

I play illidan all the time and donât get banned. Itâs still not safe if you afk and flame your team regularly though.
Whoa. I never agreed with the âPro Sceneâ in HoTS because it didnât reflect how 95% of the rest of play the game. But I had no idea that it had gotten that bad. And you are right, it is a clear indication of the health of the game.

Yep and Iâve never been banned or silenced. I donât even play with chat muted. I guess Iâm just âluckyâ. Playing since alpha. Thatâs why i donât believe these claims. I play about 5-10 matches a day too.
Is that really how they have handled the group stages?

If you play Hero League and enough people donât like you, you will be reported multiple times and eventually banned. This is how reporting system in every similar game works.
Of course picks like Illidan, Nova, Murky and Abathur increase the odds that you wonât be liked, especially in lower leagues. What does increase this chance is also arguments, even when you are polite, but donât agree. So if you play Illidan, your team is losing, they blame you, but itâs fault of Diablo and you say that actually you are losing because Diablo does solo engages and dies a lot, then you are reported by entire team.

Who is? They are not banning and never were banning anyone in this game. I have no idea why it is so hard to understand how banning system works here. If you will get a set amount of reports from other players you will be silenced no matter what. Reports for abusive chat donât work if you didnât write anything. Thatâs it. It is literally the easiest to understand system ever and people still donât get it. After that you can make a ticket to support to contest the ban but that is another story.
Itâs not safe to play, Iâve just got banned withouth even recieving an e-mail with the information

Partially. Too many matches to cast them all one by one, so 2 are played at the same time and only one gets cast, the other gets shown without casting on channel 2. (I imagine it might have to do with Blizzcon having just one screen for casting).
Unm, I donât know what hgc youâre watching, but the blizzcon opening week is being streamed from their studio with all the bells and whistles, audience, commentator desk and multiple casters. And this is just the opening week.
Donât even dream of playing intelligently. Youâll get flamed and banned worse now than ever. The good players have left the building.

True, that was just the earlier Blizzcon stream.
Even reddit got pretty upset about it even though they are generally âfanboysâ of the company.
