Is there a way to retrieve old B.net messages?

I know I should probs post this in Tech Supp or something but I doubt I’ll get an answer there as it is possible it’ll be buried under all those recon reports and such…

Anyways!

I’m curious if there is a way to retrieve old messages in the B.net app. You see, I like to keep msg conversations from online close friends - jokes, personal talk, random nonsense things - and most of them have sentimental worth to me, so yeah.

I don’t know how long the app keeps the messages, a few months or maybe couple weeks? I really don’t know… I’m hoping maybe someone here in Gen. Diss. knows a way how.

I did a little search on google and every answer was: messages get deleted after some time and you can’t retrieve them.

I’m afraid those conversations are lost friend :frowning:

Well, that’s sad. Really sad.

So my conversations with a favorite online friend is g o n e. :disappointed_relieved:

Wish they’d have an archive history in the app. Oh well, rippu me.

Thanks, too, Darak!

I don’t know if this might help but you should give data requesting a shot, simply go to this page, then select Data Protection then Request My Data option, usually it has everything and (I hope) maybe chat logs are included, though you might have to wait about a month for it. :frowning:

Do note this retrieves your data, not conversations of others, but hey it’s half of it.

Did this work in the end btw?

I’m sad now, I thought Skully had returned, but it’s just a massive necro. :frowning:

These forums were really something in 2018/19 when we had so many different voices. Don’t get me wrong the forums are still good, but more and perspectives are usually beneficial for a community like this.

People come and go. We cant stop that. But even tho some of the regulars are gone new people join us even tho its only 1-2 new people. But its fine.
