12 straight losses(got stomped, no contest) as punishment for winning 4 games in a row(hard fought 20-25 min wins).
At one point I said eff it and wanted to see how many losses I could get before a forced win for the lol’s(no Sabatoge, normal play), counter was at 16 before a winning match happened, but we stomped so hard it wasn’t even enjoyable.
Tdlr: punished for winning, punished for losing, pity win, mediocre-sub par enjoyment.
Is QM fun? To many, yes.
Forced outcomes? No such thing. Instead the MMR is moving up and down with every match, and with 12-16 lose, your MMR will decrease enough that you’ll carry your team.
No forced outcomes exactly but, what the matching system does do is: Mix things up. By taking Good players that win a lot and, chucking them in with the chumps and losers.
It’s called the: “Mentorship system”.
Have you ever had those really, REALLY bad days when it feels like you can’t catch a break? That you always seem to get matched with push-overs that can’t hold their own for anything and, get spanked in every encounter?
You may very well have been stuck in the Mentorship Que.
What i do after i experience 2-3 matches getting stuck with the push-overs and suffering terrible defeats? I just take a break. Yup, stop playing for a bit. There’s no use in continuing if I’m going to keep getting matched with losers. I do this in the hopes that by the time i come back? I will be out of the Mentorship Que and getting more ‘normal’ match-ups.
Well i have. I’ll go through these strange stints where i’m consistently being matched with NOTHING but crappy players. Players who get steam-rolled horribly in every fight. I try my damnest to be there and back them up but, i’m just stuck watching my guys get obliterated. It’s like they’ve never played the game before or something.
In the past, i was a glutton for punishment and just kept playing till i racked up a 6-8 loss streak. Now? I have a better since of what’s occurring and just take a break. Usually after 2-3 really BAD matches like that, back-to-back? It’s best to just stop playing. In the hopes that, by the time i come back later? I’ll be out of the Mentorship Que.
Is qm fun. Only about half the times lol.
If you end up in a team that know how to play good for you.
Other then that have fun trying to win when you got a DVA that leaves the game after only 4 min and you got a silver 4 Kerri feeding her mind off and has lower dmg then healers.
QM these days is just who ever are lucky not getting a team full of dumb silver 5 players that has zero clue what they are doing.
QM is pretty fun for the most part but, it can be very frustrating when you’re getting matched with nothing but clueless chumps.
Edit: Don’t get me wrong, it’s not just sheer losses. If i’m with a decent team that put up a good effort but we were just outfought? I’m fine with that. It’s those instances when i’m matched with these SAD PUSH-OVERS, who just CANNOT hold their own for anything. The enemy team just wipes the floor with them the entire match. Such chumps need to stick to A.I till they get a better since of combat and dueling.
Same here. I’m not a bad loser but when you get into a game with a team that clearly dont know basis gameplay and enemy team gets a 100% working team and comp then the loss just gets very bitter for my part. Knowing you are forced to defend whole game and enemy team gets a team that snowball us all out of the map.
To answer your question yes QM is supposed to be fun, but you should always be aware that QM is a fun mode and luck depended. Sometimes your comp is just way worse and you will straight up lose, but I don’t mind it in QM, I just enjoy the hero I picked and play.
Last game I played Hanzo in QM… I wasn’t good damage-wise… and did many mistakes, only leading in exp for my team, but we still won, even though I thought we would lose, because I was bad.
The only time, when I scream at QM, when I see we get a Varian (like today), we needed a tank and what did he go for? Twin Blades, ofc…
Teams have an estimated probability to win. The system can increase or decrease this confidence. The system does in fact, stack teams especially when its told to prioritize queue times.
If they wanted to reduce stomps, they could. But they don’t because they want fast queues, not fun matches.
