I’m curious. She’s the one hero I’ve come across who seems like it. The constant repositioning on Q is tremendously useful and she deals tons of damage. I’m actually pretty disappointed in the developers. She’s the one hero on the roster who screams League of Legends in terms of juvenile/infantile character creation (not limited to underage characters, e.g. a number of their other female characters are just generic hos, as well as their male and monster characters are like a teenager or a child came up with them) and per her description she doesn’t appear to be a Blizzard character. Let’s have some standards.
I think she has been overpowered ever since developers thought it would be a good idea to give her E the ability to Slow baseline.
Developers decided it would be a good idea to introduce Nexus exclusive characters, but the two of them were not well received by the community. At least the first one (Orphea) had a fleshed out lore and cinematic to go along with her release, but the second one (Qhira) was highly disliked because all she got was two or three teasers on Twitter before being officially revealed.
Orphia melts the front line but’s sucks a lot at taking camps, can’t deal against burst damage, super movile heroes or heroes with a lot of range. She’s also the worst pick in BoE.
I recently saw a post with a link that seemed to indicate Qhira was “highly inspired” from another source too, some comic it seemed. Eek on what has been chosen for inspiration. Not the Blizzard way.
1 read the comics to learn about her. They’re not that great but the artwork is amazing.
2 shes strong. Not overpowered though. They nerfed her dmg to reasonable levels. I would encourage you to learn how to play sylvanas bc she counters orphea pretty hard. Wailing arrow makes her very vulnerable.
Hold the presses.
Not necessarily, but Insatiable is a brutal talent (the one that practically resets her Chomp cooldown on a hero hit, since it’s set to two seconds). Didn’t check the pick rate of that in higher leagues but it must be over 50% given how common it is. If it reduced the cd to 3 or 4s that probably wouldn’t break her.
I think, as with many later “complex” heroes, she can be abused.
Her 52% recorded winrate suggests a mild tone down could be order, although she is my winningest hero so please don’t.
So I think, similar to Genji, Hanzo, and some more, players who have some practice with her will melt you. This must be offset with a large pool of players who mess up with her.
In my case, her winrate is 2nd only to Kael’thas, while considering match count and all, she has the highest MMR in both QM and SL.
I’d argue that she is easier than Genji, though, which is visible in the 52% instead of 43%. Good Genjis deliver 10-20 kills per match casually, while bad ones (me) fool around and either achieve nothing or die 10+ times doing nothing.
Shadowmere summed up the weaknesses well.
My personal take on her - stick to the lanes. If you need a more generic pusher, take Tassadar. Don’t tryhard with either hero, just push casually but unrelently.
I just remembered this is Jean, I almost made an effort here.
Blizzard characters don’t tend to be flatly stereotypical creepy little girls with nonsensical powers, in contrast to some Blizzard players.
Regardless of if one thinks having Nexus heroes is desired (personally, I don’t dislike them, but would prefer not to have them).
Are you suggesting that HotS is not a Blizzard game?
You’re a few months too late
As opposed to generic undead/orc vs holy knights? or insectoid swarm matriarch vs technologically advanced space wizards? I think you’re overestimating how complex of personalities characters like Sylvanas or Kerrigan has. They’re not flat. but they’re not that complex either.
Orphea and Qhira have their place in HotS because HotS is a Blizzard Game too. Granted they can use a lot more story building. This is 2021 people, let’s stop with the gatekeeping. Besides, they’re better than half the WC roster anyway.
It’s believable that those characters would exist and there’s a more authentic personality to them whereas an Orphea is just plain dumb. The fact that it’s 2021 and there’s an excuse isn’t a good thing. Gatekeeping? Sure, keep the stupid on the other side of the gate. Don’t follow the nonsense of other people.
She’s got a fairly generic trope-y backstory
Which is pretty much par for the course for Blizzard Games in general?
Lots of trope-y stuff.
Again, personally I don’t dislike the originals, but I would prefer they used the time to make characters from other Blizzard games.
Qhira is the one who really has a backstory problem. Mostly because it is so threadbare.
She’s a child with a musical instrument case on her back and abilities with literal teeth and claws. I don’t know what is so great about LoL’s nonsense. Let’s get some hot women in the Nexus next I suppose, with sultry voices. Then some men with square jaws, a K-Pop star, and a monster who says rawr.
I’m unaware of coffins having a standard musical instrument inside them.
Please at least do a little research so you can make valid criticisms. At this point you’re looking for reasons something sucks without knowing what it is.
Ah yes another troll account bashing on Nexus Originals.
Suprised it wasn’t Qhira this time.
Does the creepy in creepy little girl explain how she carries a coffin on her back? Her in-game description doesn’t and there’s no intuitiveness. Just silliness.
This is the sort of person who comes up with this stuff, by the way.
So if I read this thread right, the OP is both bad at the game, and upset that Blizzard’s lore in general has been pretty much garbage for a long time.
Got it.
