Their combat styles feel very similar. Divey mages that work well against lots of enemies. But i feel like orphea is just the better version of mephisto in a lot of ways. Does anyone else agree?
I play both, no.
Mephisto gets his kicks off of hitting multiple opponents, orphea has far more capacity to duel and single target burst.
Both are fun imo.
Just considering that Mephisto’s winrate is 4.3% higher than Orphea’s, no. Also considering that these two really aren’t all that much alike, double no.
Orphea is a Nexus hero that the Heroes of the Storm can play. The players can pick her too, but it was designed for the heroes to play with a character, that is why Blizzard had to create a new character, because any hero that they could add turns into a real person in that world, so they made Orphea, which the heroes in the game can pick for when they have free time to play.
Yes lets compare win rates of an established hero to a new one that people are still learning… Clearly a well balanced and thought out way to compare a character
- That’s a double edged sword you’re swinging there, buddy. As people learn how to play as a new hero, others are also learning how to play against them. It goes both ways, not just whichever way happens to be most convenient for your opinion at the moment.
- Orphea’s winrate has dropped since her release, not climbed. We’re currently exactly 2 weeks out from her release date, so this is the point where Blizz usually makes a balance call and hands out a buff or nerf. Orphea is almost guaranteed to get a buff.
- You got a better way of comparing the two heroes and how “good” they are?
Orphea isn’t a better anything imo. She has an extremely high skill cap that really punishes missing her Q, especially considering how close she has to be in order to be effective.
I think that most people build into her E because of that, but still, I don’t think that she’s really worth picking at the moment.
Mephisto on the other hand is much more consistent and is pretty reliable in terms of being able to put out damage and staying safe.
Darling this is so true. I have to giggle when I see people waste bans on her in Hero League. I’ve only seen little miss thang win one in HL and he was a Grandmaster.
Still disappointed in people for saying she was gonna be OP and that all nerfs were justified because “reasons”.
That’s because she could stack up her damage from her W too fast so she ended up very reliably glassing anyone who dared get close to her.
She also was apparently too hard to kill and wasn’t punished that hard for missing Q.
Stack up her damage from her W too fast so she ended up too furious.
That’s the thing, it was only 1 more on minions, 20 more on heroes, on average that only nets 60-80 more stacks, it’s also not very viable in higher tiers because kills aren’t a regular thing and are far fewer.
It was meh.
1 more damage on minions makes every minion wave 21 damage and every hero kill 60 damage.
That’s a lot of damage compared to what we have now, and the talent is still very strong.
Her W deals over 1k damage with Ancestral once you get it to about 100 stacks, doubled when you have level 16, that’s over 2k damage without including her E, Q, passive, heroic, or the armor shred from her level 20 heroic.
Yes, it’s just you.
Orphea isn’t a dive mage. She’s a midrange poke one with a finisher move.
Orphea is better against single targets, Mephisto is better against multitargets.
Mephisto teleports in, Orphea’s dancing around.
I have Mephisto at lvl15 and Orphea at lvl 8. They don’t feel similar at all for me.
