Is blaze still a good solo laner for braxis?

Who are the solo laners that beat blaze (or is the list way too long?)

Rexxar wont drive him away from the lane, but Blaze will have a very hard time driving Misha out of the control point if she manages to step on it first. I don’t think he has the early game damage to make it happen.

He is a good solo laner with good self sustain on any map though.

But from what I read, he’s a good solo laner with good self sustain on any map… for about 2 minutes.

Then you’re out of mana and useless. Is that true? I played him one game and certainly feels like it.

Can’t exactly hold the point if you have to hearth for mana every 2 minutes

There are quite a few, the thing is that blaze is really meaty. The only people that actually beat him out of lane are people that can take a beating and dish out damage, IE bruisers. You can kite him sure, but even I’ve beaten out a few zags outta my lane before.

Contesting the point on the other hand is a different story.

This is why you hold on to your mana and just use cleaving autos for the minions.

After the annoying mana nerf, he needs to be conservative with his mana bar, however as far as tanks go, he’s surprisingly safe. Generally chucking oil around against the right teamcomps are all you need to really do. A stun here and there but nothing incredibly risky.

He is a good solo laner but if you pick him also keep in mind about his TFs contribution like bunker or jet propulsion.
Same for yrel.
I would say avoid rexxar and thrall and maybe arthas.

Thanks guys.

So avoid rexxar, thrall and arthas.

Can I beat artanis, sonya, zagara, fenix, varian, leoric, chen and alarak?

From what I know these are the popular solo laners

You don’t really “beat” anyone. You have a stranglehold over your lane, you can totally be pushed but it’s hard to get anything done because of your waveclear, sustain and overall meat.

I dont really feel like Blaze is anywhere near the top of Braxis solo laner picks. He is more about being borderline impossible to gank rather than winning the obj.

He is pretty hard to pry off the point if he really wants to stay there, but he certainly isn’t the very best pick for that, now that Rexxar has been buffed out the wazoo.

And to the earlier comment regarding his mana, don’t spam the W+Q combo, there is never any need for it unless you are in a poke war, or need the healing. Just AA things for waveclear, and save your E to interrupt things.

Well there are lots of " ifs" in a solo lane battle so it is not just a matter of picks.
Avoiding key abilities and knowing what the other can do helps.
Only way would be to play all of them in solo lane if you want to specialize in solo laning i guess.
Hopefully the good solo lane players dwelling here may be more usefull than i am.

Thanks guys. Can I use zuljin to solo lane then?

I only have limited heroes lol. Zuljin seems pretty decent, you either let him win the lane or you let him stack to insane levels (so he may lose the first obj but he’s going to be a monster late game)

Zuljin would beat sonya right at least? And most other melees probably. Although valeera and zagara would destroy him probably… right?

(Btw why isn’t zuljin considered a good solo laner?)

Zuljin has no real response to dive till level 13 and his wave clear is not so good early on.
Plus you want him in the 4 man to fish for kills and stacks if you take headhunter.
I mean it can work on QM or at some lower elo but once people setup ganks you may prefer be safe with your 4 man.

Because of how easy he is to gank. If he ever uses Amani Rage right before a gank, he has done his opponent’s job for him and made himself an easy kill. If he activates his trait he is whittling down his hp to set himself up for ganks. He has no mobility until later in the game, and by then if he has died a couple times his team will have lost so much xp (from it being a 2 lane map and all) that he likely doesn’t get to see his late game power spikes. Braxis is still able to snowball and not having a solid solo laner can seal the game.

There are typically two kinds of solo laners: those with excellent wave clear, and lane bullies. Zagara, Blaze, Dehaka, and Fenix are the typical wave clear laners, and Yrel and Imperius are examples of lane bullies. Some heroes are decent at both, but not spectacular at either, like Thrall and Malthael.

What you generally want to look for in a solo laner is someone with decent self-sustain, the ability to avoid being ganked, and the tools to get ahead in the XP battle, whether it be by never missing soak, or driving off your competition. Your role in the off-lane is rarely to kill your opposition directly, although you can bait them out for ganks from others on your team.

In addition, although pretty much any hero can fill in on the solo lane, for heroes like Zul’jin or Alarak, you more often want them in the 4 man so they can stack up their quests.
