Invulnerable should NOT stop a channelled ability

Definition of Invulnerable: impossible to harm or damage.

We all know that Invulnerable in the game stops damage to that hero but it should not stop a channelling ability such as Nova’s tripple tap.

I don’t know if this is a bug or intentional

It is intentional, Invulnerable targets become untargetable so channels against them cancel immediately.
(They can still get hit by Time Trap or Void Prison, though.)

Invulnerable is a buff effect that makes the target Untargetable by enemy abilities and immune to damage and debuffs, except Time Stop, for its duration.

Thanks,

I think that when a hero becomes Invulnerable, if there is a channelled ability before invulnerability, it should still be on them.

Meh oh well

After reading the topic name I thought you’d complain about Invulnerable not stopping you from channelling the objectives, such as a tribute, bell tower or when it comes to capturing the Dragon Knight.

I’m not sure what the situation is after a year of not seeing the interaction first hand but it’s problematic when you can easily break the stalemate and cap them through use of Divine Shield while the enemy team is standing beside you with no way of stopping you.

WoW did this right where a full damage immunity would prevent you from capping the objective flag, or made you drop the flag altogether on CTF maps.

Well thats quite annoying too.

Does invulnerable stop things like Lucios Soundwave or mings wave of force?

You will not be effected by those two or similar effects while Invulnerable.

A popular example is ETC casting Mosh Pit followed by a divine shield on the cow. This prevents the enemy from breaking the crowd control effect or interrupting you through standard methods that don’t include targeted cleanse or Anduin’s pull trait.

Same could be accomplished by casting a Cleanse of your own on your own ETC to make him immune to interrupts or forced movement effects by providing a one second Unstoppable, which is mostly the same as Invulnerable, except you take damage.

Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of being “invulnerable”? So hots Invulnerable means unstoppable as well?

Invulnerable is just an all-encompassing status that includes protection from every negative effect or damage source in the game. It is much more rare and on a drastically longer cooldown than a simple Unstoppable, which generally comes in form on targeted Cleanse on many support characters or in form of a unique specific talent on characters like Zarya or Garrosh.

Two invulnerability sources are from Uther and Tyrael, both last for 5+ seconds. Many other cleanses have their efficiency based on user skill, knowledge and proper timing, as the dispel+immunity window only lasts for one second.

There are many more effects don’t work with plain Unstoppable which all are removed or prevented with Invulnerable.

And then on top of everything you have Time Stop / Stasis, which is designed to work regardless of whatever protection buff you have. It gets a little complicated.
